Check to see that the belt is not stretched. You can check this by putting your hand under neath the machine and try to stop the brushroll. If it stops then the belt is stretched. I would also make sure that the clutch is engaged. There is a port on the back of these machines where the hose runs before going to the machine, make sure that the port is closed. The lower tube is easy to pull off if you take the 2 screws in the bottom plate that hold it in. These machines have a lot of suction and can clog with ease.

How do you replace a vacuum hose on a Riccar upright Vacuum.

Riccar Tandem Air models have a hose that has releases to push to remove the hose. Most Vibrance & 8000 series and older series vacuums have the hose attached to a swivel on the back of the vacuum. The hose can be unscrewed from the swivel. To remove the swivel you need to remove the vacuum bag inside the dust compartment, you must compress the tabs holding the swivel to the body to be able to pull it out.

Riccar 8900 agitator won't turn

Start by replacing the belt and make sure the clutch switch is in the correct position. If that doesn't solve it you should check the clutch in the brush roll to see if it is worn.

Riccar 8995 no suction

I think you mean it's an 8955, Riccar has not had a 8995 model. If there is no suction in the hose it has to have something clogging it. Open the little round opening on the back of the vacuum where the hose attaches to see if you have suction there.

Install foot pedal release on riccar 8800 series

It's not hard to do but is almost impossible to explain how to do it. If you can look at one already installed on the shaft holding the pedal you can see how it's done. Visit your local Riccar dealer.

The switch to my Riccar 1500p hose is broken for the 2nd time. I don't want to replace the entire hose again, where can i get the switch and leads?

Take the screws out to take the handle apart. Remove the switch and take it to your hardware or local vacuum to to get the correct replacement.

Hello, I have a Riccar 8000. The belt works, the bar spins, and it will **** things up. However, it will not pick up threads and dog hair or anything from the carpeting. Mu husband took the bottom off and...

The belt should be replaced at least once per year. They lose elasticity and will slip when vacuuming. The brush strips in the brush roll can be replaced. It is well worth having it serviced by a Riccar dealer,. The 8000 series can last many years but any long lasting vacuum will require routine maintenance.

No suction on carpets

The reason it doesn't pick up on the carpets is because the belt is stretched or worn and can't turn the roller brush against the resistance of the carpet. Here is a link to the replacement belts you need:
