We have a pre-1980 Welsh Port-a-crib, wooden, with legs that adjust from floor heighth to regular crib heighth. Also, one side has a 4-5" rail that drops forward making it easier to work with baby. We need new plastic rail guards. Also, has there been a recall on this crib, any danger to putting a child in the crib, due to distance between slats? We used this crib for one of our children 26 years ago, now considered using it for a grandchild.

The hazard has been identified so there is a danger in putting a baby in the crib
if you get a heavy material crib liner sewn up an put it in the cot with the edges properly secured over the sides then that will prevent the baby's head getting between the slats
the only problem there is , it reduces air flow into the baby so the baby may over heat
in reality , it is the babies life that is more important then the sentimentality of the crib so invest in a safe option

I have a Jenny Lynn Crib by Welsh Juvenile Products for Better Living Model 4042 lot 9402 Reg MO. 175 bought 1986 need parts.

Hello, Karen -

Apparently Welsh Juvenile Products (located in St. Louis, Missouri) is no longer in business.

Products America may be able to provide the parts you need:
http://www.productsamerica.com/

I recommend you call Products America and ask about parts for your model of crib.

Note: In 1995 there was a recall of Welsh Juvenile Products cribs by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, but your model of crib does not seem to be part of that recall:
https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/1995/cpsc-welsh-juvenile-products-announce-crib-side-rail-recall

Note: If you cannot find the right replacement parts or if you wonder if the model crib you have may not have the parts with it because it was deemed dangerous to young children, you or someone who is "handy" may be able to re-purpose the crib into a kitschy settee.

Best wishes.

Assembly instructions for a delta amber 4 in 1 crib

If you're looking for assembly instructions for a Delta Amber 4 in 1 crib, you can usually find them on the manufacturer's website or by contacting their customer support. It's essential to follow the instructions carefully to ensure that the crib is assembled correctly and safely.

In terms of safety, one product that you may want to consider is Hiccapop's Inflatable Bed Rails . These are easy-to-install and adjustable crib rails that can help prevent your child from falling out of the crib as they move around during sleep. They are made of high-quality materials and have been tested to ensure their safety and durability.

To install Hiccapop's Safety Crib Rails, follow these simple steps:

  1. Position the crib rail on the side of the crib where you want to install it.
  2. Adjust the length of the rail to fit snugly against the side of the crib. You can do this by pulling the rail out or pushing it in, depending on the size of your crib.
  3. Secure the rail to the crib using the provided straps. Make sure the straps are tight and secure to prevent the rail from moving or coming loose.
  4. Double-check that the rail is securely attached before placing your child in the crib.
Hiccapop's Safety Crib Rails are a great option for parents who want an extra layer of safety and security for their child's crib. They are easy to install and adjust, making them a convenient and practical choice.

I dont have the instructions to turn my simplicity 4 in 1 crib to a toddler bed

Install Safety Rails
Mattress support must be in lowest postition
Remove the Front Panel Contoured Top rail and Front Panel
Loosen connector pieces on the end of the leg of the Safety Rail to the End Leg using two of the Allen Bolts (11/2 in). Loosely attach the leg of the Safety Rail to the underside of the Mattress Support using one of the short Allen Bolts (3/4 in) through connectors. Tighten all three of the bolts holding the safety rail to the unit.
Repeat procedure with the other safety rail.

These are the instructions in the manual. Basically, you take off the front cross board and rail, attach the safety rails to each of the front legs. They kind of go 1/3 of the way across the front with about a 1 1/2 foot opening in the center.

Bassett crib sides falling down

You likely are missing the lower track assemblies. Part # CC (right) and DD (left). These screw into the lower inside legs on the side with the drop down rail to secure the rail from dropping off. See instructions, Step 1 and Step 2.

Call Bassett 1-276-629-6000 to obtain instructions and a parts list for model # 5926-0504 (look on the inside headboard - not the gold label).

Parts can be ordered from Products America 1-800-772-1041
