My tom tom one 130 stays with an orange picture, and a red circle with an X. It also says something about an error when I try to upgrade it... like this.... This is either a Firefox error or Internet Explorer error, probably due to a conflicting add-on. You can either try using your TomTom on a different computer, or follow the following steps:

  1. Disable all of Firefox's add-ons, you have to open the browser in its Safe Mode (no relation to Windows' own Safe Mode) by clicking Start > All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). A quicker way is to press the Windows key (in XP, follow this by pressing R), type Firefox -safe-mode, and press Enter. Disable all add-ons in Firefox by starting the browser in Safe Mode and selecting the "Disable" option. In the Firefox Safe Mode dialog box that appears before Firefox opens, click "Disable all add-ons" and choose the Make Changes and Restart button to run the browser with no add-ons or extensions enabled.
  2. Disable all of Internet Explorer add-ons by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).   3. Try opening your TomTom or whatever you were doing that caused this error again. If the problem is still present, uninstall the Add-Ons in Firefox and try again. If this doesn't work, completely uninstall Firefox and install the latest version of Firefox.
  4. If you have an Anti-Virus program running, such as AVG, Norton, Avast, etc., temporarily disable the Real-time Protection and see if the error goes away.
  5. Download the latest version of TomTom home from this site: http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5122
  6. If it still doesn't work, try a different computer and see if the error is still present.

All those warnings are basically about syntax error: some command inside the map file are malformed. This is a sign of file corruption - the map has been compromised, you will have to reinstall it . For that you will need to connect in TomTom Home and do a full update. If even after that you get errors then the memory chip inside your unit is failing, and the unit with it since it cannot be repaired or replaced. Time for a new one.

Tap the Change preference icon. It is the one with the blue wrench to the left of thae orange arrow on the top picture. Once you are in change preferences, use the right arrow to explore the options. Find the icon that is shown on the next picture (the Flags). Use the Up and down arrows that will show to the right of the list of languages to select the language you want.

I think I deleted the actual program on my tom tom ONE 130! It will only give me an orange screen with a red X and a flashing disk in the bottom left hand corner now. What can I do to fix this?! ?!
If you wisely made a backup of your device using 'Tom Tom Home', use the 'RESTORE' option!

Otherwise try 'Tom Tom Home' while connected to the Internet and select 'Update' my One: it should re-load and update all missing components (including the MAP) that your machine is allowed to have.

Brand new Tom Tom One 125 showing blinking red X when turned on
I was able to speak with Tech Support at Tom Tom and got sent some links for solutions to these problems.  I was able to solve the problem following directions from this website.  Without that response of the support person to this specific problem, I would still be without my new GPS system.  Turned out that there is a conflict with the MAC OS and updates to Tom Tom, but there is a solution to this that worked for me.
If you get the continual red circle with blinking "X" and recently tried updating either your maps or most recent app, here are the two web links that will solve the problem:
www.tomtom.com/10324 (to disable SPOTLIGHT from causing a conflict on the Tom Tom ONE)
www.tomtom.com/9091 (general info for removing software and re-installing software to the Tom Tom ONE)
Do the disabling of SPOTLIGHT first, then remove and re-load software for Tom Tom ONE.  Good Luck.  This did the trick for me.

There is a problem with the lamp or around it? When it turns Orange, the lamp is at or near the end of it's life & needs replacing. What does the temperature indicator show? Orange, Red or Red Flashing? If not, then there is probably accumulated dust around lamp area
