Hi, friends, i am using MSI K8MM-V MS 7142 VER.1 motherboard only, while installing OS i need to put RAID Controller to detect my hard disc,then only can proceed installation ,i am having RAID tool for XP only, i feel uncomfortable at every installing ,... how to solve this probelm, automatically detecting SATA drive... and now i am having 40 GB only, if i need to upgrade my HDD , is there any problem , arises, becuase i put only 80 GB , which is my friend given to me ,but its short circuited... help , me please,.... thanks in advance...

SOURCE: sata drive problem

Hi,

Depending on the brand and model of the motherboard, your concern is indicative that the SATA is not enabled. Pls enable, save and exit, reboot. Thereafter enter CMOS/BIOS again to auto/manually detect.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back brand & model of your motherboard, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

I believe when first installing windows it asks you to press F2 if you want to load sata drivers
Have them handy and follow instructions

3GB Sata driver? i dident know there existed so smal drivers
Anyway, if your bios dosent detect the driver u probably need to update the bios drivers.

Instal LIVE UPDATE and let msi check you computer for laterst drivers u need to instal
