Problem with canon pi 4000

I changed the ink cartridges in my printer then the first photo showed 'roller marks.' stripes across the photo.
Now it is blobbing the page with black ink and not printing text properly. Just the top and the bottom of the words.

I think you have to clean the print head.and if cleaning doesn't help you may have to get a new print head.

Why are pages coming out striped?

There is probably dirt on the rollers or on the paper carrier. You could try running the printer through a self clean first. Go into the printer settings, menu, locate self cleaning and press that.

I have an HP 4730 and HP 4700 that keeps printing a solid stripe across the back of the page, replacing the toner fixes it temporarily only.. Any idea what the problem is?

The transfer roller may have a flat spot on it. (I assume the stripe runs parallel to the narrow edges of the paper.)

A roller problem will show up as a repeated stripe. Measuring the distance from one stripe to the next (use the same edge on each stripe) will give you the circumference of the offending roller. Divide this by ? (about 3.1416) to get the diameter. Each roller is a different diameter, so that makes it easy. Use the metric edge of the ruler - the math is simpler.

Anything printed from our canon printer is showing a "striped" background. Have changed ink cartridges and have cleaned the printer head but still have the same problem

The stripes are generally caused by a blocked nozzle (or 2).
Remove the cartridges and then remove the print head from the printer.
Run the print head under some warm water for a few minutes - concentrating on the pit at the bottom where the ink comes out - all those coloured slots!. When the water runs clear. take some kitchen roll and dab the thing dry - don't rub. Make sure there is no water on the electrical contacts on the back and refit the print head into the printer and then the ink carts.
Try a couple of prints now. What happens?
