Acer 5020 I Have Acer Aspire 5020, Hard ShutDown, When i tried to start no power detected, no booting, keyboard locked, only blank LCD i can see, do you have any solution??

in my opinion. your touchpad driver is defected by virouse /re install once time it, second your computer touch pad hardwere is damage,check it using by another keyboard and mouse. then u can get result --thanks

tell me more it boots to windows OS and then locks does mouse work or not if mouse is ok then its a keyboard failure if both are frozen then its an Os related problem or may be hard disk temme more abt it

If your computer no boot, respond to a motherboard failure, (video, memory, hard drive) - Try to boot with a boot CD and see what happen.

when you turn on the computer do you get to see anything come up on your screen before it goes blank?

try also removing the memory/ies of your system. see if you will get to see an error message on the screen and beeps from your computer without the memory. then try putting back 1 at a time and try using other memory slot to check if one of the slot is not working or just your memory

it is possible for a virus to infect the cmos chip, but i didn't think it was possible unless you were performing a bios flash. however, it may be possible that the virus found a new vulnerability through your tweaking program, if this brogram can change motherboard hardware settings such as front bus speeds...

First, Pull the hard drive. If the hard drive shorts out it can cause all sorts of problems. Generally it detects Hdd before mouse and keyboard.

For my case I think its a bad BIOS.Normally its a hard step to reprogram a BIOS.But first try thet step you said about removing CMOS battery and leave it for atleast 1 day(Without Notebook battery or AC) if its doesn't then try to read this one.No harm in reading even thought its a HP website..

• shutdown and power off your acer laptop
• then remove the battery out of laptop
• connect the power and switch on ur laptop
• let it boot to operating system
• check if its working now? ur keyboard and mouse should be working now
• you can now connect the battery and keep working.
• if u want to power off, put ur laptop in hibernate more, rather than shut-down. so u dont have to reboot next time without battery.
• if u restart or start ur laptop after a shutdown, make sure to remove the battery first

Does it sound like it's starting up at all? Is the problem that only the screen turns blank? You might have just disabled the standard output. Try pressing Fn (bottom left on the keyboard) and the F5 on the top a few times to see if the screen toggles back on. You might also try to run it without the battery, and on the battery only in case it's a faulty battery or power supply that causes the problem. If not, it sounds lsike a serious problem, so if there is any chance of the waranty still being valid I'd call acer support asap.
