Have you tried outlook safe mode? 1. Click on Start ¦ Run.
2. Type outlook/safe
3. Click on OK.

also after trying to open wait, say 10 minutes and maybe it will open or freeze up but with no error messages it must be thinking that it is opening, but really slowly

Go to add/Remove programs in the control panel. Find Microsoft Outlook or if you installed it as part of Office you may only find Microsoft Office in the list. There should be a change button, click it. Once the installer opens you should have a repair option, select it, then go through the steps you are prompted. Make sure you have your Outlook or Office CD handy as you will be asked for it. This should repair outlook and allow you to get in. Go to add/Remove programs in the control panel. I still think something is corrupted with either your Outlook or your mail store. Doing the repair will eliminate Outlook from the problem. Then if the problem persists after the repair I can help you move your mail store and delete your account to try and access Outlook again. Let me also suggest Mozilla Thunderbird as a free Outlook alternative, I prefer it. It's a lot less bloated than Outlook and more reliable.
