My ipod just stopped yesterday saying no battery. I tried to charge it and nothing happened the screen is just black. I have a bose docking system so put it in there, nothing. Then the screen came up saying low battery please charge and the green charge at top right hand corner was full (ie fully charged) now the screen is black and I can't get anything have held down the menu and middle button but nothing. The screen when I have replaced it into the dock very barely changes colour. I have just replaced it into the dock again and have a totally white screen with nothing on it all. Please can someone help me. Thank you

Normally, an iPod's battery needs to be replaced for every 18 months. Probably it is a sign now !!
In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to

Few steps you can try:
Leave it plugged in for a little while, it might be so dead it doesn't have enough power to do anything else.
If it's still not doing anything, try reseting it by turning the hold
button on then off then holding the Menu and Center buttons until you
see an apple logo, then try to plug it back in again.
some times if the battery is completely drained it will require a
little time before it responds to being connected to a power source.
If that fails, toggle the hold switch back and fourth and then press the center button and hold button repeatidly
If that fails, you may need to restore it.

choose your ipod type and then choose the 5 r's, the last step is the
resore option. This will completely reset your ipod back to factory
settings, unfortunately all the songs on it will be lost and need to be
reloaded.
If that fails you can call Apple tech support 1-800-275-2273
OK,do one thing try using a different plug..i mean charger and leave it plugged in for long time..if this doesn't help then the only solution to fix this up is to get it repaired..

The recharge time on a fully discharged battery is 6 to 10x the discharge time. so, if that battery was good for 2 hours, the recharge could take 12 to 20 hours..sit back and see how it goes.

Hi I don't think it is dead at all. I am sure it is charged. It is in the dock now and is just a completely white screen. If I take it out I am sure it will go to black. I have done the restore but nothing happens.
I have put the apple charger on and i get absolutely nothing (just a black screen) nothing at all. If it is a case of a new battery how easy is that to install yourself please?
