Without testing we'd only be guessing ! Do you want to replace a bunch of parts till the problem is fixed ? Hooking up a scanner an looking at engine management system sensor's (data ) inputs to the engine computer would be the first place to start. If you don't have the ability to do this , suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop . Or learn automotive Engine system diagnostic's . A lot of thing's could cause the problem your having . Do you know how to test automotive electrical an electronic system's ?
Eg wipers work while ignition switched to 'accessories' but stop when key turned to 'start'
I had this issue and took me ages and ages of wire tracing and probing. Your fuse box should have the wiper/windows accessories fuses. If you probe them and they aren't showing voltage, check wiring harness, check wiper motor voltage. My ignition barrel was the fault of all this, everything worked when switched to "accessories", but while the engine was running, the accessories turned off. The bottom of the ignition barrel pushed out, as the factory stopper groove bent out. All I did was cold chisel a dent back into the case. BAM fixed my windows/starting/wipers all in one go.
Igniter could be shot. Take out igniter and put near something metal. Push button to see if sparks occur. If not igniter is no good. If this works, the end of wire that is near wear the igniter sparks to light grill could be to far away from metal, bend to get closer to metal, so it will spark, or end could be covered with grease, clean end and try for spark again.
your ignition switch is bad for now though turn your key on for at least ten minutes until the light stops flashing this will reset your security system after stops flashing turn key off and then start the truck
In many cases, even if the igniter is glowing, the resistance may not be
low enough to turn on the gas valve. The igniter has
probably gone bad. ($50.00 to $90.00 for igniter)
It's is normal for the ignitors not to work when wet, once they dry they should work. The best thing is to check the electric sending unit, they are a small white kind of square that goes on the switch, just lift the knobs and take the cover of the switches and you should see the sending units righ on the rod that hold the knobs, they have to small wires attached to them, It seems to me that thats were your problem is.
Do you hear the click clik when you put the knob on LITE??
