TomTom DIED? My TomTom stopped working and I received it as a gift 4 months ago. So it is brand new. I tried to charge it but it does not pick up the charge. Is it dead? What can I do?
The same thing happened to me, but mine is a year and a half old. The charger is fine (I had it checked). I am going to try to reset it using the button on the bottom of the unit, but I have a question. The recommended charging time before trying to reset is 2 hrs. Do those 2 hrs have to be continuous, or can it be cumulative?

Call TomTom 1-978-287-9555 4 months is really early for the unit to break.. thats even before their 180 day warrenty period.. call them today and return it!

I'm using the TomTom Go 730T - I think this is the latest and the last TT with Traffic because TT stopped supplying this option. I'm having the same problem from time to time but a reset helps. Just press the Reset button and after restarting the traffic option is back.

im not sure how you tried to charge your tomtom, but you should charge for about 4 hours using the usb cable to your computer. if the battery is totally drained, this is how you should charge it. for some reason unexplained by tomtom, the home or car charger wont work to get it running again.
Check your fuel lines. It is probably getting air into the system. Also check inside the gas tank to make sure the fuel pick up line is still attached.

I would call tomtom and see if they can send you a new battery sounds like it might be bad,is the green light showing that's it charging?if so and the battery isn't holding a charge I would call them and say that it went bad about 2 months ago.Good luck
Anyone who has a unit INSIDE its year warranty should either take it back for exchange or refund, or if the people in the store you brought it from are no help, tell EVERYONE about your poor service, then contact tomtom via their website. they will arrange for the product to be picked up, repaired & delivered back to you.
