This worked for my NS-BRDVD2-CA, basically the same model as yours.
1. Turn on the player.
2. Press the home/setup button and release. Enter 9-1-1-3 on the number pad.
3. "Configure player" appears in the wheel menu to the left of the screen. Using the up or down arrow button on your remote, navigate to it and press enter.
4. Three menus appear on a blue screen in the centre of the set: DVD Region, BD Region, and BD Profile. Select the one you want and press enter.
5. A grey screen appears in the centre showing the various regions. Navigate to the one you want and press enter.
6. Exit the grey menu by pressing the left arrow key, then press it again to exit the blue menu. The screen will appear as it did in step 3 before you pressed enter.
7. Open the drawer and put in your foreign disc. Wait a little bit. When it's ready, the disc's main menu appears. Play it like you would any disc.
8. Voilà! Consider yourself fortunate: You're now able to play foreign DVDs and Blu-rays on your cheap North American player.

P.S. Remember that you have to do this every time you want to play a foreign DVD, because when it's shut off the player automatically defaults to Region 1 for DVDs and Region A for Blu-rays (i.e. North America for DVD and the Americas for Blu-ray). The "configure player" menu disappears sometimes, too; to see it again, simply re-perform the "home/setup, 9-1-1-3" hack.

How do i connect an insignia ns-bdlive01 blu ray player to netflix?

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the BDLive01 was not designed to connect to Netflix.

Netflix streaming was not possible on the Insignia BluRay players until the NS-BRDVD3.

Again, I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Getting netflix activation code insignia ns-brdvd2

Getting the netflix activation code requires you to log on to the netflix website, enter your code, and then your Blu-Ray player will stream Netflix.

You will need a Netflix account forthis to work...otherwise you will not be able to use the Netflix service.

Will not play new movies. keeps rebooting to previews

There is one new firmware available here:http://insigniaproducts.com/products/dvd-players-recorders/NS-BRDVD.html

just download the firmware and follow directions to install it. One problem is that Insignia will not do a new update so any movies coming out with the new security feature on new Blurays will have problems playing.

Visit the insignia forums and post some messages or write a email to help get our players running for at least a little longer.

Thanks and feel free to comment with any questions at all.

I have a insignia ns-brdvd3.i like to connect to net-flix

Since you don't have the wireless version of the ND-BRDVD, you will need to purchase an eithernet cable to run from your router to the player (there's a network port on the back of the player).

Simple as that...one cable and you should be up and watching Netflix!

Hope this helps!

Intermitant sound on a new bluray dvd (public enemies)

Have you updated the firmware on it? If not go to insigniaproducts.com and do so. If you are trying a Blu-ray movies(you said DVD but you never know) it could be that the player needs a update to support your movie.

Also see the forums at insigniaproducts.com to get info on updates and to let insignia know you still want updates to continue using this player. We need to get them to update this player for at least a year or two longer. My BRDVD is only about a year old and want to keep it for at least 3 years.

I have Insignia Blu-ray DVD player and a membership with Netflix. My DVD player references Netflix download coming soon in order to stream movies straight to the DVD player. Is that download available?

This model, NS-BRDVD, is not Netflix capable. Models NS-BRDVD3, NS-WBRDVD, and NS-BRHTIB are, however. A firmware update may be required when first setting up your player for best functionality.
