SOURCE: Blue Dots
I have the KDF 42WE655 with the same blue dot issue and Sony upgraded me to the KDL 46V4100 for $375! I jumped on the opportunity.

We had the free repair from SONY for the blue dots and splotches. It works great now but you need to hurry and contact them as the offer expires I believe in December.
SOURCE: Sony - KP61XBR48. I need to know a model of the replacement Lamp
First of all, there are no lamps inside this set, there are CRTs. These are not just replaced as lamps would be. The CRTs themselves will run at leas $80 each. To change these will require replacing the coolant for the CRT as well which is not a DYI type of job. The coolant is dangerous and needs to be handled carefully. Also, once a CRT is replaced, a complete mechanical and electronic convergence adjustment must be made. There is a specific order in which to do this that is outlined in the service manual and it requires a template that would need to be purchased as well.
Unless there is a specific problem that needs to be addressed, it is unlikely that any of the CRTs needs to be replaced.
If you are having a problem with the set, can you please update this with a description of the problem? We should be able to assist in the resulution of the problem with something less drastic than CRT replacement.
Thanks,
Dan

The optical block is most likely causing the problem. It will continue to get worse. Sony may help with the repair since they have had a lot of problems over the years with their optical blocks across many models. On the older sets they usually only help with the parts cost. The average repair cost for a optical block replacement is $1200.00 to $1500.00. So if they help with the parts cost it really brings the cost down. Their customer service number is 1800-222-SONY.
I hope this helps,
