I have a Riccar Model 751 and would like to get a piping foot. The one that came with the machine is #006810008 (cording foot) and does not work for making your own piping. Also, the zipper foot that comes with the machine is not one that I like to use. I prefer a zipper foot that allow my needle to fit right up against the zipper. Can you help me locate these two items.

SOURCE: I can't figure out how to shift the needle to the left

When topstitching using straight stitch the needle position can be adjusted in steps. The stitch width button(+), 0 is the center position, width 6 isleft needle position,width6 mirror image(diamond half clear and half black)is right needle position.
hope this helps, it is from the manual.

SOURCE: How to use a zipper foot please

  1. Step 1 To prepare the fabric for a centered zipper application, use the standard presser foot to baste the opening of the fabric shut using 5/8 inch seam allowance. Press the seam allowance open. Place the zipper teeth side down on the seam allowance and pin the zipper to the seam allowance only.
  2. Step 2 Release the standard presser foot from your machine. There may be a button or lever behind the foot that you need to press. Put the standard foot in its holder or someplace where it won’t get lost.
  3. Step 3 Decide which side of the machine you want to attach the zipper foot to. Zipper feet are asymmetrical, with one side that’s wider than the other. You’ll want to put the narrow side toward the zipper teeth, and the wider side away from the zipper teeth.
  4. Step 4 Attach the zipper foot to the sewing machine. You may need to line up the bar on the zipper foot with the presser foot holder, then lower the presser foot by lowering the lever. Raise the presser foot and make sure the zipper foot is securely attached.
  5. Step 5 Place the prepared fabric with the pinned zipper in the sewing machine. Lower the needle into the zipper tape and the seam allowance only, then lower the zipper foot. Stitch the zipper tape to the seam allowance. To sew the other side of the zipper to the seam allowance, remove the zipper foot from the sewing machine and install it on the other side of the presser foot holder.
  6. Step 6 Topstitch the outside of the fabric to each side of the zipper tape, making sure that the zipper foot is on the appropriate side of the machine for each side. Remove the basting with a seam ripper.

If you are not able to free this easily, you really should consider taking it to a service technician to look at it in case you do more damage to the needle bar and elsewhere trying to fix it yourself.

I have a white speedylock 234DE serger, I need a power cord for it, where can I find one?

The power cord and the foot pedal are sold as one unit here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/foot-control-bernette-singer-riccar-white-411646w.aspx . This is the correct part for the U.S. If you are in a different country, you'll need the appropriate cord for your area. The same foot control and cord works for several other sewing machine, including the Bernette 320 and the Huskylock 901.

I hope this helps. A number of White sewing and serger machines were manufactured by Singer. The manual is available here: https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/966_sl-234d_234de-x.pdf .

Where can I buy a presser foot for a riccar model rl343dr this is a overlock machine Thank you

Make Model parts

The basic concern is whether the plug for the control unit fits the plug on your machine. Even generic or other model control units may work on your machine if the plugs are compatible. A sewing machine repair shop may be able to help you. Bring the old control unit with you so they can compare.

Riccar 555su was given to me, is there an on/off switch? Can I remove a knee controller from cabinet and replace with a foot controller? Thanks.

Most foot controllers are attached to the cabinet to be used as a knee control. If yours appears to be a foot pedal and the cords are long enough, you can probably remove it from the cabinet and try it on the floor.

Riccar 3500; can I get a piping foot for it? Thanks. Hayley

a piping foot is a normal foot with one side cut off
that allows the needle to be positioned next to the piping while the remainder of the foot holds the material down and progresses the material for sewing
to do double piping you would need to sew one in first then repeat the operation laying the second piping in next to the first lot

If not look on www.riccar.com/help/manuals for a similar model.
Find out what shank your machine is and you should be able to buy parts for it. I find ebay great for old sewing machine parts.
