Sorry but you cannot interchange ddr1 for ddr2. They are different kinds of RAM, and your chipset (865GV) can only accept ddr1. If you want to use ddr2, or even ddr3 then upgrade to a newer motherboard.
Of course not. Some motherboards support DDR1 only. Some others support DDR2 only. And some support both, but only one type at a time. Both types cannot be mixed.

Check for the slots given on your motherboard, whether all the slots are same; However a motherboard can support only one type of module either DDR1 or DDR2.
your motherboard has only DDR1 slots.
You cannot upgrade DDR1 to DDR2 cause the Memory Module or notches are different than eachother.

Number of PIN DDR2 more much than DDR1. If you install on DDR2 Slot DDR1, can not
be installed correctly, because the location of the key slot DDR1 and
DDR2 is different.
