Desiree!

Hmmm ... 15/60

Since 60 can be divided evenly by 15, then let's start there:

15 divided by 15 is equal to 1. (correct?)
60 divided by 15 is equal to 4. (correct?)

Then:

15/60 = 1/4 is the lowest term (*answer*)
(by the way, the common divisor is 15)

What is the lowest terms for 711/22

To convert a fraction to lowest terms, we must divide the numerator (the top number) and the denominator (the bottom number) by a common number until we can't reduce it any more. A method for doing this is to factor the numerator and denominator by their common factors.

So let's factor 711 and 22.

1 x 711
9 x 79
3 x 3 x 79

I don't think I can factor 79. We should check the numbers from 2 up to the square root of 79, or approximately 9.

Factoring 22,

1 x 22
2 x 11

Unfortunately, none of the factors of 711 are common with the factors of 22, so it is already in its lowest terms, and cannot be reduced.

Good luck,

Paul

180/900 in the lowest terms

180/900 is 1/5 in the lowest terms.

Divide both 180 and 900 by 180. 180 divided by 180 is 1, 900 divided by 180 is 5. This gives 1/5.

Convert

Transforming 0.175 to fraction:
= 175/1,000
Reduce to lowest term (divide by 5 both the numerator and the denominator):
= 35/200
Reduce further by dividing both by 5:
= 7/40
This is the lowest terms now that it can't be reduced further.

The "Other" way round, Bottom number into ONE and multiply it by the Top. EG: 3/4 == 1 divided by 4 = 0.25, now we multiply, .25 by the Top number or in this case 3, that equals 0.75. 1/4 =0.25 x 3 = .75. 3/4 is the same as 0.75.
