My is west point CSM-TF7616.CB0.after installation and commissioned it displayed E2 on display scene screen on indoor under unit.
Why is givim e3 a new unit?
It might be a faulty thermestat, I don't know if your case is the same as mine but whenever my edgestar gets around or above 78 degrees it brings up the E2 code but as soon as it drops back below 78 the E2 code goes away and all the normal functions start working again.
Sorry about the second comment but I forgot to add that the E2 Code typically means "the room temperature sensor has detected a fault."
I'm glad you added that, Colt, because I was a little confused. Now that you say that, it makes much more sense. My air conditioner was having problems as well, so I'm trying to get them worked out. Thanks for your help! http://www.springerbros.net

I just fixed this on mine one minute ago.
Take off the front panel.
You will see a black wire held onto the heat fins by a plastic clip.
This is the thermocouple that measures temperature.
Mine became unplugged from the circuit board and plugging it back in fixed the problem.
The wire goes into a steel box.
take off the screws on the bottom of the box, grab it by the lowed left corner and bend the metal up as far as you can.
The wire plugs into a small white connector on the circuit board.
plug it back in, bend the metal back down, screw it in, replace the cover, and you should be good to go.
