Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized

I brought my Dish Network receiver down from my cottage to use at my primary residence.  My neighbor gave me a Dish 500 satellite dish to use so I didn't have to bring my dish home from the cottage.  After installing and aiming the dish, I'm getting a strong signal from 119 but for some reason satellite 110 is not being recognized on my system.  Any ideas on what the problem could be?  Both satellite locations, 119 and 110 worked perfectly at my cottage.  I couldn't find the Dish Network 500 system listed under the "Product" area.     Thanks, Lonnie

I recieve signal from satellite 119 but not satellite 110 on a dish 500 my regular dish is 1000 and everything wors great

Chances are that you have only lined up the dish to pick up one satellite. there are several satellites up there for dish and its easy to miss the ones that you need. try to line up the dish keeping this in mind. if that doesn't work, write back.

Receiver lost signal, cannot aquair

It sounds like the dish may be mis-pointed since it's not recognizing all the satellites. The next step for this would be to send a technician out to get everything fixed.

If you would like any assistance setting up a technician, just send me an email at [email protected] and I would be happy to help.

My satellite is on 129 and 119 and I want 119 and 110. I have move skew, height , and azimith with no luck. I can always get back to 129 and 119. Does the satellite default to these numbers once check...

How many coax cables are you using from your dish, 1 or 2? Do you have a switch between the dish and receivers? I am assuming your have a 1000.2 dish since you say you have the 129, 119, 110. On the LNB you have 4 coax ports. Facing the LNB, the port on the far left is for 119, the next is 110, then 129, and that last on the far right is for an additional dish. If you want to get 119 and 110, just use the 2 ports on the left. Once connected, run your check switch. I hope this helps.

Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized

You will need a DP or Legacy twin or quad, or DPP twin without using an external switch. If you use Legacy Duals, or DP Duals you will need a switch. USUALLY a SW21 is used to combine the signals but you may have a different one in use if at all.

The primary thing to remember when using a switch is that you must use the same type of LNB as switch e.g. Legacy switches with Legacy LNB's and Dish Pro switches with Dish Pro LNB's.

Check your LNB type. Legacy LNB's have only a Dish Network Logo on them, Dish Pro has DP on them and DPP have DP PLUS on them.

One of three things could be the cause:

1. Line of site. Must be clear of all obstructions to ensure adequate signal.

2. You have a faulty switch, or conflicting LNB and switch, or no switch at all.

3 you may have a bad port on the LNB.

As a fail safe check that your mount is level and plumb. You also may have the dish pointed directly at 119. Check the Skew and elevation settings as well. If LOS IS THE ISSUE YOU MAY NEED TO RELOCATE THE DISH OR REMOVE THE OBSTRUCTION.

In some extreme cases microwave towers and High Voltage lines also pose a problem but doubt this is the case for you.

Hi. I need help finding 119!

I looks like you are picking 110W with the LNB on your left if you are facing the dish.
Try to get 119W first if you connect the cable to the 119 LNB, once you find 119W that way, you will also have 110W.
Good Luck.

Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized

Lonnie, You have a simple problem, the 119 satellite is lower in the sky than the 119 if you make sure the pole you are mounted on is straight and plum ,then simply raise the dish a few elevation degrees and turn the dish to the left.Your dish is aimed low and to the right.
