That simply means that the camera is connected to a computer via the USB.

SOURCE: Blue Screen MSDC

You should only get that screen when it's charging on the wall charger or when it is hooked up to your computer via the USB cord.

SOURCE: msdc

i have the same camera and the same problem but i have found out msdc means mass storage device, for the camera to work you have to have a memory card inside it. im getting one tomorrow for mine, so hopefully that should solve the problem :)

SOURCE: vivitar 8025 comes up msdc when i connect usb lead to my computer

It's supposed to do that, informing you that it's in mass storage mode. Once connected you control it from the computer, not the camera.

SOURCE: i have a vivitar 8025 camera it has on the screen

The MSDC option in digital cameras stands for Mass Storage Device Class. It is one of the many subclasses of the USB computer peripheral connection protocol.
This class as implemented in digital cameras, allows a connection between a computer and a digital camera by showing the digital camera, when connected to the computer, as a removable disk drive, temporarily attached to the computer. Pictures taken are retrieved using either cut and paste, copy and paste or drag and drop from the digital camera's picture folder onto a real hard drive or other writeable media available in the computer.

SOURCE: i plugged my usb cord into my vivitar vivacam to27

This is perfectly normal. The camera is telling you that it's connected to the computer. You download pictures from it using the computer, not the camera.

Vivicam 8025 what does the MSDC screen mean while charging

The MSDC indicates that the camera has recognized it's connected to a computer.

The red light indicates that the camera's battery is charging.

I get the blue screen with MSDC on it, it doesn't turn on unless plugged into the wall/electronic device, it wont turn off after I get the blue screen unless I unplug it, and it's been chargin

It is charging by USB port using ac adapter, can also charge by computer USB port during picture uploads and downloads. Do you need an instruction manual.

I just bought the camera and am trying to charge it. I am not getting an LED light but instead a blue screen that says "MSDC" in white letters. I have checked the battery and storage disk...

Are you charging it by plugging it into a computer? The "MSDC" you see usually means "Mass Storage Device Class", which basically means the computer is using the storage on the camera as a removable drive. This would usually happen when plugging a camera into the computer via USB. There is usually an AC adapter that comes with a camera, or a separate charger for just the battery. If there was no charger that came with it, the camera is probably still charging. If the camera is on, try turning it off and plugging it in. Remember, even if it shows "MSDC", it is probably still charging. Hope this helps!

My camera is a vivitar pink (MID0050609) and it wont turn on, unless i plug it it to my charger and when i do the light on the left is red and it just blinks then flash a blue screen turns on that says...

MSDC is not a problem code. It is normal, the camera is informing you that it's connected to a computer. At this point you should see a new "drive" show up in my computer to transfer pictures.

Have you tried turning the camera on when plugged into a wall charger? If it turns on using the wall charger it might need a charge over night. If the camera will still not turn on after a charge the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

Is my camera charging when plugged in with usb cord it has a blue screen and says MSDC?

The charge light on the back of the camera will light red while charging and go out when fully charged. Your camera should have also come with a separate battery charger if the above method doesn't work.

My vivitar will not come on a blue msdc screen and blinking red light

I just called the help desk. MSDC and a blinking red light means that it is charging. It takes 6 hours to charge and you are not to take disconnect it from the USB until it is fully charged. Once it is charged the blinking light will turn green.... not sure whether it will still be blinking or not. This is what the lady on the phone told me so I haven't been able to try it out yet, but I will update if I call again.
