Check your fuel filter in the fuel tank to make sure it is clean if it is then"
Sounds like you will need to clean the carburetor or replace your carburetor internal rubber parts like the diaphgram and O rings.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instrucitons you get with the carburetor kit.
If the mower/weedeater is over a year old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their orginal position before you started.

Echo srm 225 runs at idle speed only. Squeezing on the fuel lever has no affect on the speed. Any other ideas?

check for a cable disconnected at the trigger
if you can move the throttle lever on the carby and it makes no difference then there is still a problem in the main jet of the carby

I'm having trouble with the echo srm 225

That could be the problem the primer is a direct link to the carb. If you used fuel that has alcohol in it, then it would cause this. So would storing the unit in an area that has ozone.

Echo srm 225 manual

Smoke generally means you have too much oil to fuel ratio in your mix. Mix per manufacturer 50/1 exactly and try again.

Echo SRM-230 trimmer stalls when you give it more gas. Can get more RPM with choke, but still not enough to use. Trimmer only has 20 hours on it.

empty the fuel tank and refill with the correct oil/ fuel mixture as too much oil blocks the jets Machines do not like any e- mix fuels as the jets are not set for the mix.

Will start and run at half choke. stalls as soon as choke is moved to run.

Check age of gas. Cannot be more than 30 days old. Make sure to use fresh gas w/synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 40:1 ratio (1 gal.) Gas to 3.2 oz. Oil). Do not use old or stale oil/gas mixture. Always use the proper oil/gas mix. If you do not, your engine will suffer rapid, permanent damage. May need to clean or replace carburetor.

My Echo PB 235 starts fine, and runs. It will ONLY do so, however, when the choke is on, or about 15% off. Any other position causes the blower to stutter and quit abroubtly. ( ie: Moving the choke to...

Have you drained all the old fuel mixture out? As well as taking out the spark plug and cleaning it should do the trick. I suggest giving it a little tuneup.

Echo SRM 210 Weedeater won't rev high enough anymore to cut good.

Check Your exhaust port.. not the muffler itself the actual port. More than likely carbon and Soot has built up clogging the port significantly. It commonly does this after a few to three years of use. Usually caused by to much two cycle oil added to the gas and just carbons debris building up from combustion.

Hope this helps because it sure helped me ????????????

My echo srm-210sb will start and run, but only if I carefully find the right spot on the choke lever; like at almost full choke. Turn off the choke & engine stalls.

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

Youwillneed to disassemble the carburetor and spray withcarb.cleaner.Makesure the small screen is free of debris. (Should beable to see daylightthrough it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

Pb1000fuel to oil mix ratio for echo

New Echo manuals say "50:1 for all engines regardless of what is printed in manual."
Fuel/Oil Mixture
  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 2gal premium/8oz chainsaw 2-cycle engine oil - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (1gal premium/2.6oz Stihl 2-cycle engine oil)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few weeks. Anything over 1.5 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH

Stalling out

Generally with two cycle engine as soon as the engine starts the choke needs to be moved to the off or open position. Some chokes have a middle position that lets the motor run until it is warm enough to move the choke into the open position. In other words weather it is a two or four cycle engine the choke is used only to start the engine. If you unit is newer and still does not run well with the choke in the open position, you may need to adjust the hi-speed circuit to a richer one.
