SOURCE: fabric softner

Remove the dispenser tray. Inspect the area just above the fabric softener portion of the dispenser. There should be a series of holes where water feeds into the tray during the rinse cycle. Sometimes these holes become clogged with fabric softener residue. If the holes are clogged, water will never dispense the fabric softener out and it will stay in the tray. If you take some cotton swabs and meticulously clean all the holes out, I bet your problem will go away. Let me know if this was helpful to you.

SOURCE: Fabric softner still in draw when wash finished

There is a blockage in the dispenser that is causing the prob.
Remove drawer from dispenser, and thoroughly clean every part of it, taking all the pieces out to do it.
To test it is working, put it back together, and before you put it back in, fill the conditioner compartment with water until it starts to overflow, turn water off, and the remaining water should continue to run out, until it is empty, if it does not , then it is still blocked.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: washing power drawer, the fabric softner section

Pull the drawer out as far as it will come and then grasping it firmly, give it a good tug towards you, this will free the drawer to enable you to thoroughly clean every piece of it, particularly the conditioner parts of it.
Get a piece of wire with a bend on the end, and poke it in to all the holes in the top of the dispenser compartment, this will clera any blockages there.
Plz rate my solution, and feel free to leave any comment.
Thanks.

SOURCE: fabric softner does not empty

I had a similar problem and removed the complete dispenser drawer and washed it in with hot water. The small inner cups for the fabric softener and bleach should be removed and the hot water directed into the small "stand pipes" on the back side of the covers. It appears the fluids in the cups are siphoned out and if the pipes are clogged at the bottom there will be no flow. Also is the plate is not fully seated, the siphon effect is will not work.
Also, my wife said she does not use the cheaper brands of fabric softener anymore because we think that might have caused some of the clogging.

As a side note, if you remove the top of the washer, there is an adjustable dial where you can fine tune the amount of liquid dispenced. You can try adjusting that too. I think my final fix was to clean the back side of the face plates inside the dispenser and ensure they are fully seated to allow the proper siphon effect.

FABRIC SOFTNER DOES NOT DISPENCE

Check to make sure the litle cups are set in place correctly and also make sure they are not blocked with hard fabric softner. A quick test: pour water directly into the fabric sofnter cup and fill it up,IF it siphons out, you will need a new inlet valve for that unit. The inlet valve has soliniods on it for the bleach & fabric softner.

Good Luck!

Fabric Softner not leaving dispenser

Run some vinger through it. Fabric Softner leaves a filmy residue that can clog it up.

Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine

its normal for this to occour, atvery least nothing to worry about, the unit "floods" the compartment to release the fabric softener, and uses a syphoning action to empty chamber, regardles sof usingor not waterenters the chamber, and depending on level determines if it empties or not

Same deal - I have to soak up all the residual water in the softener dispenser between washes. (The detergent and bleach compartments are fine).

Fridgidaire front loader washer/ problems with softner dispensor

In the back of the dispenser is a button / lever to press down to remove the entire dispenser. Remove it and take off the cover over the fabric softener / bleach chambers. You may find some junk under the cups in that cover, or in the tubes sticking up through the bottom of the dispenser.
The way this thing works is like this: You fill up the dispenser with the liquid, but that liquid doesn't get up to the top of the tubes. When it's time to dispense, the washer adds water to the appropriate chamber, raising the level to above the tube. The liquid then goes down the tube, creating a suction which (ideally) draws the rest of the liquid up into the cup, over the edge of the tube, and down the dispenser. The washer will add water several times to accomplish this. The system isn't perfect, but it usually works with few moving parts.
If the fabric softener is especially thick, it will have a hard time getting siphoned down through the tube. If it looks as thick after the wash as it did before the wash, the machine isn't adding the water to the cup. I believe on the Frigidaire, there's a separate valve (all part of the same valve assembly) for each dispenser chamber. If it isn't adding the water, you'll have to replace the whole valve assembly.

Water Softner Dispense wont empty - Kenmore Elite Quiet Pak 4 HE3t

I'm sure you heard a small motor running from time to time during a cycle. That moves an "arm" which sends water to the different chambers during a cycle. Fabric softener is dispensed when water goes to that chamber and dilutes the fabric softener. That chamber then empties by a siphoning action.
If you want to narrow down the problem a little to help trouble shoot -- put some wet rags in and run the Rinse and Spin cycle with some fabric softener. If the softener is not dispensed, then you know that the water isn't being sent to that chamber properly.
If you are intrepid enough to take the top off your washer, do that and see if the arm appears to be moving during a normal cycle. Maybe the arm got dislodged or broken during the move.
If water isn't being diverted properly, I think this calls for a real repair person.
