There is no solution this has happened to me 3 times in 13 months each time they replaced the screen panel (basicly the whole TV) I have a 2 year service contract, the next time it does it they will not bring it back but will write me a check for the price I payed for this peice of ****.!!! Do not bother fixing it.
Call Sanyo for warrenty repair,tv is less than a year old.The problems,u discribing could be cause by the Tuner board, that the board, where the incomming broscasting signal cable plug into it.Worse cause, the LCD picture screen is shorting out and dying, than the tv is not worth repairing. The LCD screen panel are 90% of the tv,will cost the same as a new tv,if the LCD screen panel was to be replaced.Sorry, than the tv not worth as a whole tv any more, only as electronic's boards for parts, that it.
I have a Sanyo 37" purchased from Walmart July 2007. The black spots are starting to show up on my screen. I have never sprayed liquid on the screen nor applied any pressure to the screen. From the abundance of reports of black spots I think Sanyo has a manufacturing issue that needs to be addressed.
I just had my Repair shop tell me that the problem is not cost effective to fix..Sanyo basically said "Sorry bout that"..Has anyone got any satisfaction from Sanyo??

Hi
I would check with Wal Mart first. I bought an RCA from them that went out twice in a year. Both times they replaced it. If they won't then find a reputable repair person he/she can give a honest estimate. Make sure they actually take the set to their facility to make the estimate. Too many horror stories of estimates written by techs who just LOOK at your TV or who try to repair it on your living room carpet. Stay away from these people. A reputable tech has a shop where he takes your equipment and actually takes it apart and uses sophisticated equipment to test the electronics. In fact ask to see the shop - that usually scares off the hobbiest too.
I also have a 46 inch Sanyo LCD the left side goes black and I called Sanyo and they told me sorry about that, at the time I was out of the warranty repair by about a month and a half and they just basically told me I was screwed so my suggestion is never buy a Sanyo. They don't stand but their product, my suggestion would be to go to Best Buy get one of their sweet deals and buy a Sony Bravia or something like that, the good thing about best buys you can buy up to a four year warranty for their TVs and they will take care of it if anything happens to it

I have the same problem, my television is faded black on the left side with lines on the left top side. I have had the 46 inch unit for 1 year and 7 months. I am planning to write a demand letter to Sanyo and then taking them to small claims court woth evidence that this is a common problem with their units that they know about and is not trying to remedy. Also the Attorney general in Texas should have an interest in them (Walmart and Sanyo) selling these defective proucts in the state.
