Left + and the right - that should bridge it

  • Anonymous Feb 27, 2011

This is a five channel amp. You can bridge the 4 channel section and get two channels out of it. But the sub channel is already bridged, but it can handle "ONE" ohm a rarity for most amps especially jensen (especially amps that are "older"), and puts out in the neighborhood of 500-600 watts clean at one ohm.

These are the "ONLY" Jensen amps to mess with. They sound great--work forever and if they fail can be fixed from the factory for about 55 dollars--no matter how much damage is done to them.

If I remember correctly the 4-channel section puts out 50 watts rms at 4ohms and 75 watts rms at 2 ohms. So if you bridged this amp section you could run 3 different sections 2 with "peak" power around 200-300 watts the sub channel at about 600 peak at one ohm.

If anyone reads this as says all jensen amps are **** or boat anchors, wake up and check these out--they sound great and usually can be picked up for next to nothing.

I have a Jensen A222HX amplifier. I want to hook a subwolder to it. How do I bridge the connection

Hello rcell66,

The Jensen A222Hx is an "old school" amp and the channels are probably not bridgeable. I'd recommend posting and/or researching your question on one of the "Car Audio" forums. Many of the members are old school trained and may even be able to locate a manual for Jensen's.

Hope this helps.

Bridging My AMP

This amplifier uses the left + and the right - for bridging. The manual is available from Jensen but you have to email them to get it.

Bidging

You can't bridge 4 channels into one channel. You can bridge the amp to two channels and drive one dual voice coil speaker.

The owner's manual is available from Jensen.

Amp not working

What's the problem? It's not unusual to get a spark when you connect power to an amplifier; there are capacitors in the amp that will charge. Is the amplifier not working?

Protection light comming on.

I'd be inclined to check to make sure there isn't a short circuit somewhere in the output lines. Maybe a wire is crushed against the car's body or bare wires touching or badly fitted RCA plugs. All of these things could activate the protection circuit. If you have a multimeter it would make life easier but don't forget your speakers will show up as 4 ohms so that's not a short. BMW
