Looking for a Manual for an OLDER Schwinn Airdyne, cannot find any numbers. "Computer" has only 5 buttons plus 2 "select" buttons on Work/Speed, Time/Total. Buttons labelled left to right: Time/Reset, Arrow up, Arrow down, (Worn off) ??, and On/Off. Seems to work fine, I'd just like to know how to set it.

    I emailed Luke and received the old manual very quickly. The manual showed me exactly how to use the airdyne computer. Many thanks to Luke for helping me. I did a lot of searching looking for the old manual.

Send me your email address & I will send you a copy of the airdyne manual I scanned. It is a pdf copy which has description and instructions for your Airdyne computer. It has automatic (scans all features) and manual (stays on the 2 items you select in the display windows)and tells you how to change from manual to automatic and how to operate the computer.     I hope the manual will help alleviate the problem I am experiencing with my older airdyne model...it has the same button sequence as the original posting, but the on/off and start/stop button do not seem to register. I took apart the computer and cleaned all parts (although none of it seemed to be dusty or dirty) and unfortunately the computer will still not start. The screen is clear and it will switch between all of the modes, but it will not register when I start pedaling.
    If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

    I just sent an email, hopefully he can also help me to find an older Airdyne manual. It has an Ergometer with an analog load indicator gage and small LCD display with 4 buttons (up, down arrows, start/stop, and reset buttons.)

    Hi Luke,I just purchased an 8 year old AirDyne in mint condition. But I don't have a manual that describes how to operate the computer on it. Luke, I just bought an AirDyne Pro from a friend, but they did not have the manual. I am unable to configure the controls after numerous attempts, Would you please be so kind as to send me a copy of your manual. The manual I found online is for a newer model and does not have the same computer configuration as mine. [email protected]

What kind of batteries does the schwinn Airdyne take its about 22 yrs old?
Most computer console batteries for Airdynes are AA, you'll have to open up the console/meter housing in the back to replace them. I will be attaching a link to a diagram of the housing. Hope this helps, sincerely SportSmith..

My older Schwinn Airdyne LED isn't working. The bike hasn't been used for several years. What needs to be done to get the LED operating?
Sounds like you just need to replace the mini computer batteries, they are AA batteries and are in the back of the housing

You can readjust your speed sensor if batteries did not fix the issue, make sure the speed sensor is 2mm to 4mm distance from flywheel.

I have an older (25+years) Schwinn airdyne bike. The mchanism on the front wheel hub that drives the cable to the speedometer is not working. As a result, cable not driven and no load or speed...
How about going to a Schwinn dealer who has been in business for a long time? The speedometer drivers are no longer available, you have to get it changed over to electronic. This not something that you can do on your own, it has to be done by someone who knows the product. We have been in business 40+ years and sold Air Dynes since 1979, I do know what I am saying.

Follow this link and you can download the owners manual as well as the exploded parts schematics. There will be information about the different years. other than the consoles they have remained the same for 20 + years. If you ever need to replace the bottom bearing be sure to get the lock ring as well. It changed from left hand thread to right. Thats it. You can also upgrade the console to the newer version. A little expensive but with proper care a 20 year old Airdyne will last till the frame rusts out from under it.

Battery missing for exercise bike
I have a Schwinn airdyne (model AD-3) that uses a button type battery in the count-down timer, which is above the work load indicator or the 'speedometer'. According to the manual I was given with the bike, it utilizes a 1 1/2 volt watch - type battery (LR44, A 76 or equivalent).
