If your keypad is connected to your control board by a flat ribbon wire, try disconnecting it and clean the silver contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. After cleaning, plug it back in and try it. If it doesn't fix it, replace the keypad unit. Some units actually have keypad tests to confirm your diagnosis of a bad key.If your keypad and control is the same unit, replace that unit. Some fluid must have dripped down on the keypad control board while you were cleaning, or there was a static discharge that locked the display. Unplug the microwave oven overnight in a attempt to get the microprocessor ic to reset, hopefully this will cure the problem.

The All Off cooktop touch control turns off the downdraft exhaust

system and all surface cooking areas that are in use at the same

time.

The Lock cooktop control avoids unintended use of the surface

cooking areas. When the cooktop is locked out, the surface

cooking areas cannot be turned on by the cooktop touch

controls.

To Lock Cooktop: Touch and hold the ALL OFF/LOCK keypad

for 4 seconds. After 4 seconds, ALL OFF/LOCK will glow red,

indicating that the cooktop controls are in the lockout position.

To Unlock Cooktop: Touch and hold the ALL OFF/LOCK keypad
for 4 seconds.

It means the keypad detects an electrical short. It's the equivalent of holding your finger to a number button for more than 40 seconds. It will cause an error. You have to remove/clean/repair whatever is causing the short. Try cleaning the front keypad with isopropyl alcohol. If it doesn't work, remove the front panel with a 1/4" socket wrench and T15 torx screw driver. Remove the LED/clock board with philips driver. Then clean the entire back of the keypad panel with ispropyl alcohol. Allow the alcohol to dry completely or use a hair dryer to dry the alcohol completely before plugging in stove again. I did this with my stove and it fixed the problem.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If it is still locked or goes into lock mode by itself, the "clear" key on your keypad may be shorting.

Hold lock button for a few seconds and it should return to normal

My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.

Is it possible someone may have sprayed cleaner directly onto the keypad area?

This causes moisture to get into the keypad and sometimes onto the control board.

This could mean that they control panel frame with keypad (membrane switch) would need to be replaced.

Can you give more details on the cleaning?

It may possibly be locked, in which case holding the enter/start pad for over 3 seconds may unlock it.
