Dell XPS M1530 PP28L will not start up black screen

great machine, try starting the thing up with the battery out of it and just the AC adapter plugged in. if that works then your battery needs replaced. if yous still get nothing and the battery indicates it's charged then unplug the ac adapter and try powering it up with the battery only, anything else is going to involve surgery to remove the memory and test that way. Are you at least getting any lights on the system? if the system board is dead you either won't get any lights or ones that were usually green (like the power button) will light up amber. this system is out of warranty now so if the system board is dead in it then the best bet is to try ebay for the replacement part and have a shop swap the board out for you. if you don't want to get that involved in it let me know i am a Dell certified systems expert (dcse) and i can either fix it for you or buy it from you and fix it up for someone else. I LOVE the XPS systems.

My Dell XPS M1530 replaceable battery showing warning sign on the battery icon.

Try to see if there is a BIOS update for your laptop. The last version is A12. That sometimes will fix the problem. If not then it is most likely that the internal charger is built into the motherboard of the laptop is starting to fail. You would have to replace that part or most likely the entire motherboard.

Dell xps battery not charging

Hello:
Maybe your battery is ruined. Batterries tend to lose their capacity and appear not charging. This occurs after a year or two. It depends on its use and care. Maybe, you need to replace it. You may notice this entering BIOS setup by pressing F2 key after power on your Dell XPS. Then, check battery health on the BIOS menu and follow the recomendations.

I hope this helps. Thanks

Battery installed power shows but not charging battery, new battery and charger. thanks.

Hi

Its a common issue for DELL Laptops usually if the battery and charger are working fine the culprit is the motherboard. If its still under warranty have them replace the motherboard and it will be good as new. Thanks
