A Thermo Fuse can be tested with a multi meter, check to see if it has contenuity between the 2 pins. if it does it usualy is good.

If it does not, then it is blown and you might have another problem with your dryer as well as the blown thermo fuse. Your themo fuse will blow when it reaches it's maximum tempreture. The Thermo fuse's job is to keep your dryer from overheating and let the service person know there could be a overheating problem.

Make sure your venting is clear and put your new Thermo fuse in and give it a shot. if your new thermo fuse should blow out, you should have a service Tech look at your machine.

You cant tell by looking at them.you will need an ohms meter to check them for continuity. Place the red lead to one of the spades and the black lead to the other spade. If you get any movement at all on the dial or gauge, the fuse is good.

Hey Dale, a melting fuse is a serious problem..For a fuse to melt, there is a LOT of current, ABOVE what that particular system is designed to carry.. in an ideal situation, ; the fuse would have blown and not melted..(did you put in a higher rated fuse to try and over ride the issue???)..ooppsss...
Dale, you have an issue that need a QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL to repair...

My He3 dryer has a message E1 and will not dry the clothes

E1 is usually a bad Thermistor. Here's the one for your model you can order: Manufacturer Part # 8577274

You would need to take off the lower front access panel under your door, then take off the duct assembly # 45, by removing the two # 32 screws, and remove the # 2 screw at the very bottom of the duct assembly with a bracket# 11 attached to it, remove that one also. Then your thermistor is # 42 on the blower housing, next to your thermal fuse # 59.

My Kenmore dryer model HE3, 11084836201, will allow me to select the drying cycle, but it will not start. Once I press the start button, it clicks but will not start. Please help!

This problem is commonly caused by a blown thermal fuse located on the blower housing behind the bottom panel. Remove the bottom panel then the lint duct and check continuity of the thermal fuse. You can also bypass the thermal fuse for troubleshooting purposes. Check for blocked lint filter and restricted vent system if the thermal fuse is indeed blown then replace it including the thermistor. Click on the link below for detailed troubleshooting of this common problem.

Ice melting in ice maker

Remove the food from the lower shelves , so the inside rear lower freezer panel can be removed ( only 2 or 4 screws ) .
The # 4 thermistor or # 5 thermistor is bad . # 4 tells the main control board , the temp of the coils , if they need defrosted and when they are thru defrosting . This thermistor is the 1 " long , torpedo looking piece , clipped on the top left of the coils , with 2 white wires going to it . Part number WR55X10025 . It would be advisable to also replace the # 5 thermistor , located at the bottom of the freezer , slightly in front of the drain , also with 2 white wires going to it , slid into a housing . This thermistor , is the freezer thermistor , which tells the control board , the freezer temp and when to cycle off / on , due to temp setting .

HE3 dryer stops drying with code E1

Hi, how are ya?

The E1 is a thermistor problem. It's a little black fuse that's next to the thermal fuse on the duct housing.

It's pretty easy to fix. You need to take the bottom pannel off and then the black blower housing.

Good luck :)

I have power to the plug, but nothing to the unit when it is plug

First unplug the unit.
This can be caused by one of two possible conditions.
You may have blown a fuse inside the unit or the thermistor may have blown. You can check them with a simple ohm meter. You will have to take the covers off to access the parts. The thermistor is located at the air outlet. This thermal resistor (thermistor) is designed to open if heated too hot and shut power to prevent fires. You can see a diagrams at;

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=260464

It's usually the thermistor.
The parts can be purchase at electronics stores like Radio Shack.

06 subaru forrester im testing failure

check to see if you have any "fusible links" simply put these were spliced in wires and designed to melt like a regular fuse does. i used to have a car that had problems and it was because a link had blown. the Scuby may not use these links but it may be worth a call to the service dept to find out.
