If it is an LCD model rather than an LED model like the newer TVs, it is probably the back light fluorescent tube or its inverter board. These have been the nemesis of Flat Panel TVs/Monitors since their inception. Many older computer monitors that are used heavily fail in just over 3 years. This is why most of them were only warranted that long. Repair of the board/tune is possible, but results may not be optimal. With the current price of LCD TVs today, you are better off buying a new one.

i have tcl satellite tv...the porblem is when i switched on , 5 or more minutes after, the tv unit shut off itself. Sometimes the tv scan its channels first before having picture then shut off after few minutes..varying time when shutting off.....And when using for video movies everything alright....please tell me what to do??...any solutions??..advance thanx to those who could help...
