Press win key + r
under run type cmd
on the command prompt type ipconfig
not down your defaut gateway.
type it in your web browser, and then enter the correct user name and password for the router.(i u dont know the user name leave it blank or try admin for both user name and password or its combination o call dell for it)
Create a unique password on your router : Once you have logged into your router, the first thing you should do to secure your network is to change the default password* of the router to something more secure.
This will prevent others from accessing the router and you can easily maintain the security settings that you want. You can change the password from the Administration settings on your router’s settings page. The default values are generally admin / password.
Change your Network’s SSID name:
The SSID (or Wireless Network Name) of your Wireless Router is usually pre-defined as "default" or is set as the brand name of the router (e.g., linksys). Although this will not make your network inherently* more secure, changing the SSID name of your network is a good idea as it will make it more obvious for others to know which network they are connecting to.
This setting is usually under the basic wireless settings in your router’s settings page. Once this is set, you will always be sure that you are connecting to the correct Wireless network even if there are multiple wireless networks in your area. Don’t use your name, home address or other personal information in the SSID name.
This is sufficient to secure your router from other to use it.

I get a full wireless signal but when its connected to wireless there is no internet. The internet works when connected (ethernet) by bypassing the router, but there is no data transfer wirelessly.

The wireless router most likely has been configured with WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryption key.
Unless you configure the wireless card in your computer with the router's encryption key the computer cannot connect to the router by wireless.

Dell Truemobile 2300 - cannot connect to internet

This is usually a router configuration issue. The router has to be configured to match your new broadband settings.

For example, your old DSL may have required some kind of login which was entered into the router. For most broadband cable connections, you set the router to get an IP address automatically.

Re-run the router Setup Wizard. You can download it here:

Connection

Is this a situation where the connection works when plugged into modem that came with the DSL; then does not work when you try to use the router?

If not it is probably another problem.

If so check out the following

Routers require configuration (setup) to connect to some devices to access the internet1.gif.

I am will need to know your internet service provider (ISP) -- (as this is DSL possibly the name of the local phone company?).

If you are not familiar with configuring your wireless router --
Will you provide me with the Manufacturer and Model of the
Router? They all configure differently when it comes to
detailed instructions.

I may need manufacturer and model information on your modem device depending on what I find at the ISP's site. (if the link is right I probably do not need this).

Yes we will want to test with a wired connection first then on to any wireless connections you are considering.

With wireless services attached to your network1.gif you should also consider securing that wireless service1.gif so others cannot easily access your network and computers, like your neighbors or people on the street with a laptop.

If you want to consider that I can discuss several options with you. However to determine which options your equipment supports I will need to know the manufacturer and model number of your wireless adapter or the computer1.gif with a built-in wireless adapter you intend to connect to your wireless network1.gif.

Truemobile 2300 router

You may need to enable the wireless signal within the router settings, but you will have to connect to it via an RJ45 lan cable, as you would of when you first set it up. Type in the routers ip address in your internet browser and get into the routers settings that way.
