Ink System Failed is displayed becuase the printer head can not communicate with the main board of the printer and this can happen due to print head failure there is nothing you can do except repairing the printer.

Actually the "ink system failure" error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes. This can happen if you allow the ink cartridge to fully run out or you use poorly filled ink cartridges. To clear the error you will need to perform a purge routine. This takes about 10 minutes to complete.
