Sounds like extension has put the phone on transfer. You can try these steps on the Extension 241 phone and see if it will correct the issue.
1. Press the Feature button, then * 2 2. Push the button you want to program 3. Display will read "Intercom #:__" 4. Enter the extension number
Dial "F * 0" (Feature, star, zero), which is Button Inquiry, and press
an intercom button to see the extension number of the telephone.
If Set Relocation is set to "Yes", then the extension number &
mailbox will follow the phone when it is moved. Move only two
phones at a time, and wait until they completely "boot-up" before
moving additional phones.
Hope this helps.
It could be a simple as the phone has call forwarding to another extension set up on it or the direct line could also be programmed on the other set. Does the screen on the non- ringing m7208 display "forward to:xxx" or does it display the current day and time?
Leave the handset down.
Dial "Feature 4" and the extension number of the phone to receive the calls.
To cancel, dial "Feature # 4" on the forwarded phone.
That's it!
In my workplace, when you move the Nortel M7100 phone, the programmed info (extension number, etc) moves along, just like if I was rewiring all phones. Have you tried just to unplug the phone and plug it on the new location? Here the extension number moves along with the equipment... (Nortel Norstar M7208 and M7100). Good Luck!
-> You need a new extension number for your set? -> You need a new extension on your set so you can see when they are on their phone?
If it is the first, there are many things that you need first, too much to explain at the moment. But you need to have the password and a template for your phone to make changes.
If it is the second, press: - Feature * 0 and any button to find out what is on the button, look for an empty button or one that you want to overwrite, - then RLS, - press FEATURE * 2 - press the button where you want to add this new extension - dial the extension of the new person
Press Feature 985
Press the 9 Key
Enter RESETSMPSWD (73738767793) using the dialpad
Press YES
Once you have RESET the password, it reverts to the default.
