A treadmill will shut down from to much friction which is due to high motor current because the walk belt and deck are not properly lubricated. I would recommend replacing the motor controller, walk belt, deck and applying .5 oz of lubricant on the deck every 3-6 months or 100 hours of use. This will extend your treadmill's life many years.

This machine has what they call a thermal switch. It is designed to
shut the machine off if it gets too hot. This heat is caused by
friction. Friction is caused 99% of the time by the walking belt or
the drive belt. If it is the drive belt then it can be solved by
either applying a treadmill lubricant (must be made for treadmill
belts) or by purchasing a new belt. If you feel the underneath side
of the belt and you feel a screen door type feeling you just need
lubricant. If you feel a smooth surface you will probably need a
new belt. If you have lubricated in the past year and your belt has
the screen door feel then take off the motor hood cover and check
the drive belt. If it is worn then you will need to replace that.
You can purchase either of these products from the manufacturer, at www.iconservice.com. a couple of other places that may have them for discounts are www.ebay.com, www.fitnessrepairparts.com, or www.treadmilldoctors.com.

Why does my 27gal powermate smell like electric fire as soon as I turn it over?

Likely a motor capacitor is failing causing excess current (heat) in the motor windings. Does the motor get hot?

OR, a poor connection in the motor start or run circuit either at the centrifugal switch or the capacitors. A loose connection may overheat and emit a burnt resin odor.

Regardless, you'll want to fix it ASAP as it will likely only get worse resulting in higher repair cost.

How do you reset the overload switch

An electric motor used in lots of equipment may include overload reset button on the motor body. If the motor is overloaded or if it overheats, this button will pop "out" indicating that an internal electric safety device has tripped, shutting the motor off.
Once the motor has cooled sufficiently it can be re-started, usually by pushing the popped-out reset switch back down.

I have a dayton 5hp electric motor for an air compressor i know how to wire the motor for rotation but this one has 2 extra wires for an internal thermostat where do i hook them to

Those go to an overheat shut down circuit. If the motor were to overheat then the thermostat would trip and the motor would not run until it cooled down.
If you don't have that option, the wires are not used.
Cap them off.

Hi i have isuzu npr 2010 and have overheat problem if motor work slow not have problem but during the presser working have overheat problem if stop and motor work slow become normal

If I'm understanding u right, u overheat when the AC is not on?! If so, it sounds like the electrical fan for the AC is working & the electric, radiator cooling fan is not operating. This may be caused by a bad fan switch, coolant sensor fan relay, electrical short to the fan or it may be a simple fuse. Good Luck

Overheats and turns off on timed setting

Is the drum turning? Also, the blower wheel on these tend to wear out and not hold the shaft of the motor. If the blower wheel does not turn with the motor then it will over heat. I am here if you need more help.

Dryer wont start

Is this a gas or electric dryer; helpful to know. The motor is not starting consistently? Focus should be on the motor and starting circuit. Possible bad connection, they need to be clean. Is there a starting relay? If a motor relay fails to disengage the start winding then the motor will overheat. Motor and motor circuit matches the symptoms described.

Engine overheats

Run volts from battery to fan motor....if it turns problem is either in the fan motor sensor/electrical connector(corroded, etc.) or if equipped with a fuse possible blown but doubtful.
