I have only 130 messages in my inbox but when i am checking my message memory status, it is showing tht i have 175 messages. also my cell phone can take upto 500 messages...but after 170 messages it shows that the memory is full. whats wrong???

when ever i send a message to any body, my cousin is recieving message saying "keep this message IMEI no: 12122...." , this is happening when i use my samsung star 5233w phone only. please let me know the problem
hi what the phone is saying is its capable of holding 500 message but in reality this means if you have enough free memory your phone can store 500 messages so what you need to do is delete all the sent/outbox/inbox/drafts message delete all the ones you dont need.
Also delete any pictures you dont need as these take up loads of mem also delete any ringtones that your never going to use as alot of the messages you got free with the phone you never use so make sure you delete any of these that your sure you dont want as these also take up loads of memory once you have done this you should find your phone will work just fine
Your Inbox Only support 200 sms... And when I say Inbox it includes your My folder as well... So you see 197+ 26 beyond your range... Delete Data from my Folder.... Problem solved.
Actually the problem is because your SMS/MMS inbox is full.
Over the last six months you have piled plenty of messages in your inbox that you didnt delete. or you may have MP3's shared via bluetooth in your inbox.
Try saving them to you memory card and delete them from your inbox.
You will not receive this message anymore.

Why am I receiving a memory full notification?
Memory full warning notifications are shown once the SMS memory reaches 80% full, which is 80 out of 100 SMS.
The notifications show up every time on receiving a new message. On reaching 100%, "Memory full notification" message is shown and no new messages will be received until we make space for incoming messages by deleting some from the inbox.
Memory full warning notices are shown only if "Auto Erase Inbox" is set to Off in Messaging settings (Menu -> Settings -> Messaging). If set to On, then these notices are not shown. By default this is set to Off.
