Nice having you get a PC for yourself, basically if you want to download music onto a file to store on your PC, then you'll have to do any of the following;
1. Get the music files from another location on an external storage like a flash drive,external hard disc, etc. Get the music from say another PC into the external storage and connect the external storage to your computer and transfer the files to your computer. This should not be difficult either.
2. You can connect the computer to the internet and download directed by specifying the location that you need the music file to be downloaded to. Once this is done you can now go ahead and save. One of the websites you can get some music files from included www.rnbxclusive.com
Hello, You should install Ubuntu from inside Windows with the wubi program. When you boot you will have Windows as the default boot option and Ubuntu as a second option. Choose the Ubuntu installation to reside on the external drive. You will connect the drive if you use Ubuntu.
If you do not do that, reinstall ubuntu on the external drive and choose to write the boot sector for GRUB or LILO on the external drive, not on the MBR of the primary drive. Hope it helps.
If not removed safely, external devices can lose information when disconnected.
I recommend using a free recovery tool called Handy Recovery which is normally used to recover files accidentally files on a PC. The application can also be used to try and recover files on your external HD.
