Kenny i believe you drive has been corrupted, try formatting and then using data recovery to recover your files after it works.

How do I use a verbatim MF2HD microdisk

A floppy!?? Really!? I think you might have to go back in time. LOL! Well, if you have an adapter or a port for it, just insert the disk and that's it.

To format the disk just insert disk, click 'start' and then 'my computer', right click usb drive and select 'format', select proper system file and press 'enter'.

Please insert disk

Insert the disc that came with it ( if no disc came with it then it should not need one.) If it still insists it needs a disc go the verbatim website and go to the drivers/software/downloads page, and select the model of the pendrive and download the appropriate drivers ( your operating system etc XP or windows 7)

Plug it into the usb port and go to 'my computer' there you will see the drive most likely named verbatim, double click to open it.

Then open a new window and find the file you would like to transfer, simply click on it and drag and drop it into the usb drives window and wait for the file transfer to finish.

When i plug my verbatim hardrive in all i get is " please insert disk into drive f" and will not let me open the drive.

Windows is unable to read a valid "Table-Of-Contents" from the disk-drive. So, Windows is "guessing" that writing an "empty" Table-Of-Contents onto the disk-drive is the best action to take, but it's asking your permission, before proceeding. If you have existing files on the device, say 'no'. If you have NO files, or you are willing to "forfeit" ALL the files currently on the disk-drive, say 'yes'.

If you say 'yes', and Windows fails to write the new Table-Of-Contents, then there's something physically wrong with the disk-drive. Check the warranty-status of the device -- if the warranty sitll is valid, Verbatim will replace the device, at no cost to you.

Dropped my verbatim smartdisk portable hard drive. I'm able to open the disk but when I open the file, it's all gone. what do i do?

What you have listed isn't a hard drive, It's a flash drive and it is practically indestructible by a common drop, If you can plug the drive in and access it then the drive is working correctly. If it does not say something like " Insert disk in drive E: " when you try and open it once again chances are the drive is working fine. The last time you connected it previously to dropping it you might of removed the drive before it was done. Some times Windows does not write the files right away if the computer is also busy, this can cause a delayed write failure to occur when you remove the disk before it has written the file down. If you plug it in and the computer does not see it or you get the stated message I wrote above then it's broken physically. If you can still write new files and read those then chances are you missed a write window.
