My Samsung DLP has Thin Black Vertical Lines 8 in each row, 9 rows. The tv is 3 years old. No problems until now.
Called Samsung and they said to unplug the tv and leave it off for an hour. Tried that, but it did not work.
Vertical black lines (10), not solid black.
I tried replacing the bulb on the back but they no longer make the same one so they insisted that the replacement one would work but it did not
I did some reading on this. They said its caused by a faulty DMD board. I understand it's costly... around $700 to replace. Still looking for a cheaper avenue...
I just ordered a DMD board online for about $50 and replaced it myself. Not really that difficult, just need philips head screwdrivers and some patience...
Same thing happened to me...it's definitely the DMD board. I found one online for about $50 and replaced it myself. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and some patience...not that difficult to replace.

I have the same issue - but 8 sets of 8 lines. My Samsung DLP is a 46". It's under warranty w/Best Buy, so I'm going to call them. Weird thing though...mine is 3 years old too.
Same exact problem as described! 8 tnin verical lines, 9 sets.
i have the same problems(vertical lines)that are now gruped closer than two weeks ago
same problem 8 lines, 10 sets.is it really the dmd board?
I also have same problem with 10 sets of 8 vertical lines on a 3 year old HLP5063W.
I have a HLP5685w that just started doing the exact same thing. Mine is 3 years old as well. I hope it's not the dmd board...
P.S. Samsung's Customer Service is some of the worst I have experienced.
