Sound

Have you ever had sound? If so, when did it stop working? If it stopped around the time that you changed something in your system, like installing new software or hardware, then that's likely the cause.

Did you go to start>programs>control panel. Double-click on "Sound" and verify that nothing is muted and the volume sliders are all turned up?

If you know the last time the sound worked, do a system restore previous to that point. Keep in mind, a system restore will remove any software installations you've done, but it will not delete any files or email. Start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. Go through the prompts and select a date previous to the time your sound stopped working.

No sound on the speaker.

common issues with no notebook sound are volume physical switch turned down. mute sometimes checked off under the speaker by the clock some laptops have a Fn button that corresponds with keys either on the numbers or F keys above. look for anything that would work with a Function key combination (often in a blue color) printed on the keys themselves. another common issue is , in the control panel under sound /sound properties people sometimes tick of the "Digital output only" which effectively mutes the speakers. one last thing. sometimes on laptops volume settings dont look like buttons , but are responsive to touch. look for a volume slider image and play with that too. hope that helps, cheers.

Sound is not there

Hi,,

1.Please check weather the sound driver is been installed properly on you laptop.

2.Then check weather in sound option the master volume is reduced fully or put in mute.

3.Then check the volume control on laptop is kept to minimum.

These are the possible cause for no sound.

Thanx

Acer Aspire internal mic won't work.

You need to check the record settings and make sure the mic is not muted or turned down to low. Click START, CONTROL PANEL, then SOUND icon. Click the AUDIO tab up top. Make sure that your sound card is selected in the drop down menu under Sound Recording. Now click VOLUME tab. A new window will open up. Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES. Make sure you have a check by the MIC and click OK. In the Recording Control window, turn the level up for Microphone and make sure it is not muted. Let me know what happens.
