Help! Dog Bit Through Electrical cord on Lakewood 2727. How to replace cord???

My dog ate right through the black cord...directly to the wires, and frayed them. You can see the metal wires all exposed and frayed. (Luckily it was unplugged when this happened).

How do I replace that cord? I put electrical tape around it (the black colored elec tape), but I don't think that's a good idea (particularly since the wires are frayed and exposed).

SO... either I throw it away and buy another one. OR, where/how can I replace the cord. The cord is not easily removed from the unit itself. What do I do???

Another option for you would be to use crimp on terminal connectors(**** connectors) you may purchase these from most hardware stores. Even using these I would still tape around the outside to ensure a good insulating surface.

How do I replace the power cord on a Nilfisk Coupe Neo?

I would say unlikely for a home fix. Getting into vacuums like that is always an issue, but this has the added issue that the cord is auto retractable. The is a small drum with a huge coil spring behind it! Depending where the dog chewed through, you could just wire on a new mains plug?

My dog ate the cord to the fan I need to know how to replace the old with a new one

Hi mlh9188

You can replace your cord that was eaten by your dog very easy.
Disassemble your fan.
Be sure to mark how the fan is assembled with an awl or sharp instrument to scratch an alignment scratch on the outside of the motor case before you disassemble it....maybe even take a picture
Once you have the fan disassembled to the point that you can get to where the wire that was chewed is connected to the fan, you will disconnect the wires from the plugs,sockets,etc...take another picture before disassembly.
Take the old cord with you down to your local hardware store, loews, homedepot, ace hardware, etc.
Tell the person in the electrical dept what happened, and he will fix you up with a new set up.
Come home install the new cord and plug...keep away from dog...

I have an older model RCA television ( but it's ot all the hook ups for today) and my dog accidentally ate through the cord, should I take it to a shop or just buy a used tv somewhere else & not even...

I guess it depends how far up the cord your dog ate through it! You could cut the cord off at the bite, fit a new plug and use an extension cord to reach the socket. Other than that, I don't think its an expensive job to get a complete new cord fitted - depending on the repairer, it should still be cheaper than a replacement tv

Dog chewed the cord;its the kind that plugs into back of motor. Is there anywhere to get a replacement?

I feel it would be cheaper to replace the fan cord than to the dog.
As this is a DIY site, I would recommend that you repair the cord. Cut both the ends of the cord such that you have about a foot of the cord left with the wall plug and the fan socket. Procure a few meters of a double or triple cord depending what you have in your fan presently. Peel off the insulation on all eight or twelve ends of the wires and join them one by one to the wall plug and the fan socket to both the ends of the newly acquired cord. And insulate each joint with insulation tape individually and then collectively. So you have two joints on the cable if you look at it casually. What you need to procure is:
1. A cord double or triple core depending on the original one in the fan now.
2. A small roll of insulation roll.
3. A dog leash.

Dog chewed cord on bissell model 6579-2 how do I replace it?

You can cut the bad section of wire out of the cord, cut the insulation on the cord to get to the wires. Match your colors, strip the insulation from the individual wires and twist together. Wrap each wire with electrical tape (making sure no wire is exposed, can be a fire hazard), then wrap the cord with electrical tape. The cord will be a little shorter, but should work fine.

I need a power cord for an emerson tv

Hope the dog is well. Best to go to hardware store and buy a plug to replace yourself. Is it two wires, or three? Is it round or flat cable? Also if this is a continuos problem you might want to get a length of metal clad cable to put over the cord before you put the new plug on.

Broken electrical cord

The belt can e replaced but I recommend you should take it to your local vacuum cleaner service center. They may even be able to fit a new plug on the end for you if the damage is at the plug end.
