I changed the belt on a Eureka WhirlWind superlite, all was well but I can't seem to find where this white piece of plastic approx.2" and less than 1/2" wide and there is a copper like V shaped clip, I was hoping maybe you's had a diagram or something showing where these go. Much Appreciated

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I would suggest contacting your local vac dealer in your area to she id they have a schematic of the Eureka Whirlwind Superlite vacuum, and include the model number so that it would be easier to find the vacuum you are speaking of or you also can check on line, some factory manufacturer have some type of schematics that you can download using the name and model # of the vacuum, but this is not a guarantee, So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

What size belt??

The Eureka Whirlwind 4489 uses style U belts, and you can find the Belt Package Assembly- Style U 2pk at the following link:
http://www.vacpartswarehouse.com/Eureka-Electrolux-Sanitaire-Belt-U-Style-2-pack-p/61120.htm
The broken belt usually stays trapped within the housing, so when you remove the necessary pieces in order to access the beater bar, you should find the remnants of the original belt, which you could also use to determine the size you need for a new belt. You might even get lucky and find that the belt itself is ok, but had gotten derailed somehow! Also good to remember is that there is often a second belt sealed within the packaging and instruction manual, so you may already have a spare belt on hand if you stashed the owner's manual somewhere.
Hope that helps! Please rate as helpful if so :) Thanks!

I took apart my eureka quick up vacuum and am not sure how to re assemble

I just did the same thing and had to reassemble also. I recommend turning it upside down. First make sure the belt is wrapped around the motor threads as well as the brush threads, then rest the brush more or less where it goes in the front of the vacuum. The white plastic pieces each have a small hole - you need to insert one end of the brush into each while plastic piece. When you lie the plastic piece flat you should see that the other end fits together with the top of the vacuum. The trickiest part is getting the tiny little wheels into place. Just worry about the 2 in front first. Set them carefully into place in the square holes in the front corners of the machine. Use your finger or a screwdriver to fit the mini axles properly into the grooves. Carefully push the bottom of the vacuum into place until it seems to snap in place (be careful that the wires are tucked in well) and screw in the 4 main screws. Final step is to reattach the smaller black cover to the bottom (back) side - be sure to get that wheel in place before fitting the cover on and then tighten up the final 2 screws.

Changing belt - Eureka Whirlwind 5740

I tried the website for manuals but no luck. I called the toll-free # 1-800-282-2886 and got a rep right away. I gave him the model and s/n (lower bottom on the back side) and he walked me thru it. For the model I have, there are 3 screws to remove - With the vacuum upright and standing facing it - there is on on the right and one on the left of the bottom cover and one on the left side near the hose intake. Remove those to get to the belt. I ordered the belt with him too - althought the belts were cheap ($2.99 for 2) the shipping was $8. If this didnt help - call the 800# - they were great.

Belt broke

The belt number is 60957, There should be some screws that you remove from the bottom and the whole bottom nozzle will come apart, then you can change the belt.

How to change belt on Eureka Whirlwind

On the top cover, there are holes at the front on both sides, there is a screw on each side in one of the holes. Take the out, and the cover should come off, then you can get to the brush roll and belt.
