I have a KitchenAid mixer KM25GOX NSF, Model serial number WT2333793. I purchased on eBay & it is in great condition, but the flat beater hits the bottom of the bowl & the adjustment screw doesnt solve the problem. What would cause this and how can I fix the problem? I have the correct beaters according to KitchenAid tech. The flat beater seems to hit that dimple in the bottom of the bowl, but more toward the front of the bowl. Please help me. Thank You

1. Unplug stand mixer.
2. Place bowl lift handle in down position.
3. Attach flat beater.
4. Adjust so flat beater just clears bottom surface of bowl
when in lifted position by turning screw
(A) Counterclockwise to lower the bowl.
5. Just a slight turn 90 degrees in either direction.
Place bowl lift handle in up position to check clearance.
6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 if necessary.
I hope I helped you.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid beater rubs bottom of the bowl

Your beater to bowl clearance has come out of alignment. This can happen naturally over time and with normal use of the appliance. This is something you may correct from home using a flathead screwdriver.

Unplug the mixer, with the bowl and flat beater removed. Tilt the mixing head back as far as the machine will allow. In the exposed hinge, behind where the bowl would normally sit, you will see a 3/8 screw exposed. Turn this screw half a turn counterclockwise (to your left) in order to raise the flat beater from the bottom of the bowl.

This may take a few attempts until the beater is clearing the bottom of the bowl again. If the adjustment screw will no longer turn, do not force it. It is only designed to move so far to make the appropriate adjustment.

Be cautious. Raising the flat beater too high may leave dry ingredients at the bottom of the bowl.

If further information is needed, I would advise you to contact Kitchenaid Customer Service. They may walk through this adjustment through you over the phone and can look into ordering replacement beaters for you also.

Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.

SOURCE: kitchenaid mixer makes a lot of noise. The beater

Hi - I've been searching for general info on KitchenAid stand mixers and ran across this so I'm throwing my $.02 in... Since KA stand mixer bases are essentially made of cast metal parts, there is a very slim chance that there is a lateral misalignment (side-side) unless it got dropped...eek! Sounds like a head height adjustment issue. Check out this from KitchenAid Conversations:

http://forum.kitchenaid.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3032

Good luck.
