The "motor module's" are notorious for failing. Look at the little white fingers inside the tray area, if they are pointing ANYWHERE but fairly horizontal (or slightly up) you may have a bad module. Take the front plastic cover off and check for broken plastic parts inside, wiggle the large gear to see if you can get it to start turning again, if so (or if the gear is cocked) replace the module. Here's a link to a part supplier. http://tinyurl.com/4qhwo9

Yup, you have a bad motor module. It's easy to replace (3 philips
screws) and you're on your way again! Once you take the screws
out gently pry (wiggle) the module out and then replace it making sure
the fingers are pointing the right way (the module is indexed with a
flat spot so turn the fingers till it lines up with the module when
    installing.)

I have a GE Profile fridge PSS25MGNAWW with an ice maker that is not working properly. The ice maker doesnt fill with water. If I turn the ice maker off then back on it will squirt water in for about...

HI this is just a test the icemaker runs when you first turn it on, its not suppose to fill up the tray, it will fill it when the icemaker reaches the correct temperature, if its not cold enough in the freezer it wont kick on, if its been sitting for several hours and still wont fill or make ice, you need a new icemaker. The new icemaker part # is WR30X10093

Ice maker not working

This problem where the icemaker is not working properly is usually broken into sections on diagnoseing the issue of why your not getting ice out of the icemaker. One of the first things that you should check is if the icemaker is getting water to the ice tray. If you are not getting water to the ice tray then the first thing you should check would be your water filter. If your water filter is clogged or dirty you will not get any water going to the icemaker. Following checking the filter and if you still had no water going to the icemaker you would then go around the back of the machine and test the water valve. By using a multimeter you can test the two connectors that plug onto the solenoids to assure that you do have power going to the water valve. Also in some cases you may be able to disconnect the line and clean the small screens on the inside of the valve but most of the time if there is any issue with the valve it is by far easier to just replace the water valve itself. If you do have water going to the Ice maker yet your icemaker is still not working. You can also try defrosting the ice maker by disconnecting the three screws holding the ice maker in place and removeing the entire icemaker and running it under hot water. Sometimes this does help to defrost parts that are froozen in the unit. If after you reinstall the ice maker and you do have water going to the ice maker yet your unit still does not produce ice, and you can feel ice on the inside the tray and you have tried defrosting the ice maker. It is always easier and cheaper to replace the ice maker as a whole rather then buying parts for the ice maker which would cost you about Four times as much as buying a new icemaker

My ice dispenser quit working

There are multiple components that can cause this.
Open the door and put your finger in the ice tray. Is there any ice or water in it.
If so then the problem is likely the ice maker.
If not then the water supply is either stopped up or the water valve solenoid is broke.
If their is ice then the ice maker may not be making ice for other reasons. Is the Ice Level arm down? If so, the Icemaker has a clock like motor that is actuated by a temperature sensor.

Ice maker calls for water, solenoid fills ice tray, temperature sensor gets cold over about 45 minutes and closes the motor circuit telling the icemaker to dump ice.

If everything is right and still doensn't make ice, some mechanical aspect or the icemaker appears to be broken.

Thanks for using FixYa, Good Luck.

Ice maker problem. Ice barely comes out of the door dispenser.

ok first thing to check is that you dont have a jam inside the ice bucket, folowing confirmation of this working the next thing you want to check is tat the auger motor is working on the door this is motor part located on the door tat spins the gear like object inside the bucket allowing ice to come out following confirmation that this is working properly the next thing to check is that you ice maker is functioning properly stick you finger inside the ice maker tray to assure that you are getting water on the inside if there is ice on the inside you might want to remove the ice maker and run it under hot water to defrost the unit and check after you reinstall if this has fixed the problem if this still hasnt fixed your ice maker problem then you might just want to goto marcone appliance parts online and order yourslef a new icemaker there are no repairs done to fix the icemaker it is a cheap part that is easily installed make sure when you remove the icemaker you look at the plastic arm that goes along the side that it is in the proper position if not it wont push the ice out of the tray properly hope this helps

Ice maker is not making ice through the door water is working

first thing to do is check to see that water is getting to the icemaker simply stick your finger inside the ice maker and check that there is water in there usually icemaker can be removed by three screws 1/4" against the wall if you have water and can feel ice on the inside remove the icemaker and flush with hot water then reattach the ice maker and wait 24 hrs to see if you get ice if it still does not work then your in need of a new icemaker which uyu can get from marcone appliance parts they willship the unit directly to your door and you wont have to pay a technicain installation charge hope this helps

Water leak at back of ice maker ,made big ice ball at rear of tray then ran out on floor. Turned off water ,cleaned out ice now wont do anything .. Tray wont fill , rack dosent move. Was making ice good...

sounds like you have a bad water valve solenoid. check the ½" diameter fill tube that feeds the water into the fillcup of the icemaker, you may have to remove the icemaker to see inside. is this tube frozen with ice? if it is, you have a bad solenoid.

Ice maker not producing ice. Tried everything in the Troubleshooting section of Users Manual. Replaced water filter. The front water dispenser is working.

the most likely thing would be a bad water valve.try to reset the ice maker and watch to see if the tray fills up the fill tube could also be blocked with frozen water.the last thing is simply a bad ice maker.

My icemaker is not working. Water not filling tray

Probably the valve that feeds water to the ice maker leaks and this water freezes up at the filling tube to the ice maker and the water doesn't go through, but if the filling tube is not frozen and the ice maker doesn't call for water the problem is in the ice maker inside board ,if so you should replace the ice maker.

Icemaker not producing ice

you need to troubleshoot the problem, if the wire arm that tells the ice maker to stop making ice when full is in the upright position the ice maker will not make ice. the problem has to be either the switch on this arm malfunction. but probably in MOST cases it is your electronic water valve which has gone out. this is located on the water supply line on the back of the fridge at the bottom probably behind some cardboard or plastic. it is the same kind of water valve as a dishwasher uses, if it malfunctions it will not deliver water to your tray, manually fill the tray and put the arm down, if the maker dispenses the ice out of the tray, chances are your electronic valve is broken.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED25PW Ice maker tray not filling with water

Just had this issue - after checking all line connections, I pulled the ice maker feed water line from the back of the unit and found the tube was blocked with ice. Melted the ice with some hot water, and all is good once more. I would check for this before getting into the solinoid.
