There is no spring inside the drum that may come off except for the spring and wire hoop assembly that securely holds the door seal to the outer lip of the door opening.

Check to make sure that this spring is in its proper position at the bottom of the door opening as shown in the photo above.

It will help determine what really the spring is if you can post photo of the said spring including the exact model number of the machine. How can I fixed my haier 6 kg washing machine with error code E3. balancing of washing is not the only problem it happen every time

try running a minimum load with light clothes. If it still does it, look for something broken that holds the tub in place, maybe a spring.

Adjust your washer's front legs and lock the nut, it has another nut to do this. After you hav locked the legs, try to rock the washer with your hands, it should not rock. Another thing to check will be inside your washer, after taking the power off the wall socket. Check to see if some springs or the shocks (dampers) have come loose. This normally happens when the load is not even, that is when you hav a big sheet in one part of the washer tub. Spread out the clothes evenly before you commence the wash. To see if washer is firm: hold the front portion of the washer, the 2 corners and try to shake it, if it does not move, it is fine.
Pump: If you are handy at all this is simplicity itself. Check the pump - slide pump to left and lift and it comes clear. Take off 2 black hoses only where connected to main machine. Pull off electrical connection. (make note where wires go) Pump and hoses lift out easily. 3 screws open the pump. Clean any obstruction and reassemble.

Washing a full load is better than 2 or 3 small loads, saves electricity, etc. But if there is a loud spin noise, means that your bearings are wearing out. Is your belt too tight?
For the smelly washer:
You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use very hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Put the Affresh pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.

For most front-loaders: rubber boot, seal
Remove the top, screws behind the top lid. Slide an inch away from you & lift up. Remove old seal. Lubricate the slot which fits over the tub with washing-up fluid, if you find resistance. Starting at the top, press the seal so the flange of the tub enters the slot on the seal. Work your way round the using thumbs to force the slot on the tub flange. When slot is on the flange all way round, fit the spring which holds it on. The spring goes into a slot on the outside of the seal. This is quite difficult and you may need another pair of hands. Fit the outside of the seal to the cabinet - this is easy and fit the plastic clamping ring.
Test for leaks before using. Use rinse to test as the water level is higher.
(There is no glue anywhere, only clamps)

From time to time the washer does not empty completely, have not been able to narrow it down to any one setting and it onloy happens once in a while. Any suggestions?

Does the washer attempt to spin? It could be that it isn't spinning leaving the clothes soaked and some water in the bottom of the tub. Might want to put it in the service mode and turn the pump on and do a spin test as well. Does this happen on heavy loads?

When spinning, Out of balance message occurs, then the machine starts to add water to get the load out of balance. It will put additional time on the wash cycle. It will drain and try to spin again. Then...

it could be weak shocks for the drum or the springs. you can also overload the washer. there should be a gap in filling washer with clothes around 5-to 6 cm's on the drum ring this gives space for movement and balancing. the washer can also become out of balance if the bearing is damaged, if you can lift the drum from the bottom of the ring and it moves up and down by few millimeters and feels lose then its usually a sign the bearing is weak. this can make the display say there is a problem with balance. 6kg or 7kg is the weight of the clothes and water not the clothes. over loading the washer damages the bearings and put more pressure on the shocks and springs.

A piece of clothing got hung up in the seal of our front loader washing machine. Now it leaks when in use and a round spring has come out from behind the seal.

you will need a new seal and the spring is what helps to balance the front of the drum , you will need to put it back on, trace down where it belongs,, should be a prong on the machine and another on the drum casing,

Large rubber door seal came apart

Yes it can be put back on without taking the drum apart. The larger end goes on the drum side. Fit larger end around drum lip make sure it seals all the way around, install spring around seal. Smaller end goes around door opening. Install seal around outter lip and install spring around seal.

GE WSM2780W Stacked Washer spin cycle

With no clothing in the wash tub take the following steps:
1. remove the front cover from the wash tub
2. run a full cycle of laundry and observe the tub's behavior

Potential Solutions:
A. If the tub begins to shake wildly during a full wash cycle with no clothing in it then you will need to adjust the 3 large springs on each side of the tub until the unit is working in a more-balanced position. This is simple to do by hand. If the tub appears to be shaking too far forward, then unhook the 2 large springs in back so they are tighter. Then run a full wash cycle again with no clothing.
* note: there are smaller springs too - you don't have to adjust these to fix your issue

B. If the tub works fine with no clothing during a full wash cycle, then try to load your clothing in a more balanced fashion. For example: if your wash load is only a small kitchen or bath rug then when the unit spins it will spin off balance with a wet & heavy item on only one side of the tub.

C. If you'd like to replace the 3 large springs, I can get you the part numbers. There are specific springs for both sides of the wash tub and they are different part numbers. The full replacement of the 3 large springs can be done by hand.

thanks,
Chris I.
