How to DISABLE programs in start-up

Usually, computer is slow and this is due to programs start when Windows start. and you have an option to stop them from starting. there is always an option to open the programs on the computer. Here are the steps to Disable programs:

  • Step 1: click on start
  • Step 2: click on "run" or "start search"
  • Step 3: type "msconfig" then hit enter
  • Step 4: on the system configuration window. click on startup tab: then click on disable all.
  • Step 5: click on apply
  • Step 6: click close : then click on restart..
In some cases a permission window pop up would appear, just click ok.. then after the restart , your system should be running a bit faster.. "in some cases a message on Vista and Windows 7 will tell you about Admin rights... and the option your need to is before hitting enter after typing msconfig on the run box, right-click on the message that appears on the right hand screen then choose "Run as Administrator" HOPE this would help you..Cheers..

Hi,my laptop become so slow and its keep freezing

Head over to download.com and do a search for Ccleaner. Once you download and install it, run the cleaner and registry fixer. Registry errors are a common cause for a computer slowing down. If you are running Windows XP, a good idea would be to change the size of paging file which will increase performance.

slow start up and shut down

Hello,

You didn't mention what version of Windows (Is it Windows, or is it Linux / other?) that you are using. For laptops in particular, windows sometimes gets confused as to which power saving state that the laptop should be in.

Next time that windows is running, you should see an icon of either a battery, or of a power plug in the area next to the clock (lower right corner). If you LEFT click on this, there will be a list of various power schemes that are available. MAX BATTERY will reduce the processor speed the most, while ALWAYS ON turns off power saving altogether, and allows the laptop to run at full speed.

If your fan always seems to be on, or seems to be cycling on and off rapidly even though you are doing little with the computer, then you might need to have the fan and heatsink cleaned out (consult a computer shop). When the processor starts to run hot, the motherboard will begin to slow it down regardless of the power scheme.

You might also be looking at a program that is loading during startup (did you just happen to install Open Office by chance?) that also takes a while to unload while shutting down. Consider what you have recently installed, and check your startup menu (click start >> programs >> startup ) to see what is being loaded there.

my dell inspiron mini 10 notebook using window 7 pro..why it always hang when i opened many application..

The Dell mini computer runs on a Intel Atom processor and has just 1GB of RAM on it.. So the computer is designed only for internet surfing and launching small applications.. Thats the reason it is called as a netbook.. It comes with win starter edition... It is not highly recommended running a win 7 pro on this machine.. It can be really slow on this Operating system... Thats the reason your computer is slow.. Try to run inbuilt cleaning like disk clean up to see if there is any iimprovements in speed.. Else switch the Operating system to win XP or Win 7 Starter
