D-Link Wireless Router WBR-1310, Version A1

Our router stopped working. I have my main computer connected to modem, and internet is working fine. But my wireless laptop (XP), my wife's computer (Vista), and my son's computer (XP) can't see the network. I've tried shutting everything down and rebooting. I've tried hitting the reset button on the router.

Went away for a few days and came back to find the router not working. Although the cable modem was fine, there appeared to be no communication between it and the router. Powering both down did not help. Nor did resetting the router back to back to factory settings. When I try to re-install the router, I get a message "error: internal error". At this point, I'm afraid that the router is fried - and of course - one month after the 1-year warranty expired. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

I bought this router newly and tried powering it on, and it gave a green status light. But after a couple of days, when i tried connecting it, it used to not switch on. In the middle, this router got dropped down once. I have tried pressing the reset button for a few seconds and it din't work up. Is there a suggestion to fix this problem.

    Regards,

    Geetha.

I had the same problem. I just woke up one morning and it didn't work. I called the support hotline and they ran me through some options like hitting reset etc. before conculding that it was dead. They were able to send me another router in the mail at no cost (except for the cost of shipping the dead router back to them). Unfortunetly, the new router they sent me was also dead and their customer service is less than helpful this time. I would suggest just buying something else.

I've had the same problem as everybody else, I came back after the long Easter weekend and viola - only power and not status light, it was as if the router was getting no signal of an internet connection. I called up the tech support and they asked me to hit the reset button and nothing happened even after powering it off. I'm well over a year (1.5 yrs or so?) so no warranty is covered under mine.

Make sure you fully reset the device to its factory settings. I am not sure on the DLink what the procedure is. Usually it's unplugging the unit, pressing the reset button for 10-30 seconds, then repowering on the unit.

From a wired laptop, reinstall the software using the CD that came with the unit to set up the router. Your manual should cover all of this. If you don't have the manual/software, re-download it from D-Link's web site.

If the router will not power on or give status lights, then that's another problem entirely.

I had the same problem.

Make sure you turn off all the security with the software in package then slowly turn it all back on, on piece at a time. For whatever reason, it comes with MAC address filtering already turned on, which makes it impossible to see if you don't have the right info put in to the computer that the router was configured with.

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

I have a D-Link router but the main computer does not connect to the internet when I connect the cord from the internet cable box to the router and the other cord from the router to the main computer

You connect a CAT5/ETHERNET cord from the MODEM to the yellow WAN port on the ROUTER and then the computers to the other four ports.

The Router alse need to be set up and the CD that came with it will help you through the stages you need to do.

I have comcast cable net and D-link WBR 1310

Hi, forget about the USB connection since you wanted to use a router for your wireless connection. Contact Comcast asnd make sure they assist you in making your computer connect to the Internet using the ethernet connection because you are going to use the ethernet connection for the modem-router connection. Once your computer is online with the ethernet connection, you can connect your Dlink router to the modem and configure it for Internet connection. There will be more steps before you can use the wireless connection. Just make sure you can get online with ethernet connection first.

Wireless Home network will not stay connected to internet

So you have a DSL modem connected to a router connected to a wireless router connected to both your computers? Sounds like you need to just get a wireless modem and throw all the routers away.

Connection to my Desktop not working.

Try and change the cable from the router to computer with a new one and do the same with the modem and see if connects. Hopefully it's just the cables that are faulty.
