SOURCE: will the stock rims and tires off a 2010 gmc truck

Keep it simple...they are both GM thats a good thing, however my guess is 16" and 17" dont interchange but to be perfectly sure consult a Goodyear or Firestone or the like tire store, they have a book on the stuff!!

Can I replace stock 215/55R16 tires with 215/60R16 tires

The stock tire has a diameter of 25.3" the other tire has a diameter of 26.2"

While I recommend not deviating from the stock tire size 1" should not make that much of a difference.

Remember, the suspension, brakes, abs, traction control, and general safety are all designed to be most beneficial using the stock tire size. Using a different size tire can affect all of these things.

Replace stock tire size.

Look at the sticker on the drivers side or passenger side door and you will see the manufacture recommended allowed tire size on your stock rims.

Wrong tire size?

P designates a tire for a passenger car, 225 is the width of the tire in mm, 75 is the ratio of sidewall height to the width (eg thesidewalls are 225*0.75=168.75 mm tall), R is the type of tire (radial), and 16 is the diameter of the tire in inches. Customizing the tires gives you different performance results.

If you want your car to act according to how the manufacturer specified, go back to the stock tires. However, your current tires have a larger diameter than the stock, which means your rims are also larger than stock; you would probably have to replace the rims as well, which can be expensive.

I would stick with your new sizes. Different sized tires will not harm your vehicle in any way. I would also recommend going to a store that offers lifetime warranties like Les Schwab; they are invested in insuring that that everything is fitting correctly so they don't have to refund you anything.

Speedometer appears to register 15 miles less than actual speed

If you have replaced your stock size tires with oversize aftermarket tires and wheels (17 inch stock wheels to 22 inch wheels, etc) you need to have the computer reflashed to compensate for the larger tire size. Larger tires turn slower to maintain the same groundspeed, giving a false speed reading.

What is the stock tire size for a 98 corolla

There was two different sizes on 98 Corollas, 175/65-14 and 185/65-14. If it's an LE model it uses the 185/65-14 size. Your owners manual or sticker in the door jamb should also provide that information.
