I have a Kodak EasyShare V1003. It won't turn on unless it's plugged into the charger. I bought a new Rechargeable Kodak battery, and that didn't fix it. Help!!

Hello Pam, You have either a faulty contact for the battery or your battery is suffering from age. After time these camera batteries lose their capacity. Try a new fully charged battery. Best Regards, Russell
There are a few things I have to ask: 1.) Did you buy the correct batteries? They are referred to as 'KLIC-8000'. 2.) Did you buy both the batteries and charger together?3.) Did you purchase anything from a foreign country (mainly China) for an extremely low price? (Usually you find them on e-bay.) I have been through multiple charges for my Kodak Z8612 - from my cat chewing on the cord to getting an absolute piece-of-crud charger. My first charger was purchased from Kodak. That worked beautifully but my kitten was teething. I was low on money, so I went onto Ebay and found one with a battery for about $8.00. Well, it was from China, I received it about 3 weeks later. It finally came in. I used the new battery, and charged it, but the old battery didn't charge on it. The next charger I bought, none of the old batteries worked on them. So, it all comes down to if you bought them together, if they are the same brand (or an absolute waste of money).
The C182 isn't a battery charger. It uses standard AA batteries, disposable or rechargeable. If you use rechargeable batteries, you must charge them outside the camera using a standard battery charger.
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 4. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery.
