I have an old John Deere 1209 hay cutter and I cannot get the gearbox to stop leaking oil. I have replaced the seals once and plan to replace them again tomorrow. If they do not hold this time would there be any problem of just filling the gear boxes with grease? I only use this cutter about three to five days a year probably 30 hours a year at most.

You can fill the gear boxes with grease but also have some oil in there to so they lube till they get warm and grease breaks down reason the seal wont hold is that the seal has wore into shaft

My john deere 1070 loads up under a load and will stall. I changed fuel filter which was loaded with "gunk" and it ran ok for a while then is doing it again.

I am not sure what you are calling gunk but if this gunk is black it is engine oil. The tractor and the engine was built by Yanmar. The injection pump is lubricated with oil pressure from the engine. The seals in the pump will leak and engine oil will get in the fuel system and contaminate the diesel fuel and plug the fuel. Seals will have to be replaced in the injection pump to correct the gunk.

What is my problem with my mower oil too full and has gas in it.

Your rings on your piston cylinder provide a seal between the piston and the cylinder wall. If the rings leak, gas from the cylinder can leak into the crankcase. Plus you will lose compression. May need to take it in and have a pro look at it.

Verso gearbox leaking oil

There is a seal in the gearbox and this has been damaged so oil is leaking past it out of the gearbox. You will have to carefully replace this seal, to do this you need to take the gearbox out of the car, put it on a bench and carefully remove the old seal and press in a new one.

wipe it off real good and run it for a few minutes and check it to see where it is coming from. could be the drain plug not tight could be the pan gasket is blown in a spot. need to clean it and watch to see where it is leaking at.

We have just purchased a john deere 2140 B reg. it seems to have a bad oil leak on the hydraulic system. the position of the leak is in the centre of the vehicle directly below the drivers seat. it drips...

Probably oil from the pto output seal.
Also they leak from the inner linkage arm seals.
Both reasonably easy repairs, seals readily available.
System holds a lot of oil and low oil will affect the hydaulics and steering.
