Okay, the Xbox 360 isn't reverse compatable, meaning you can't play regular xbox 360 games on it. The only version that is reverse compatable is the Xbox 360 Elite. SOrry :(

Xbox360 wont play origanal xbox games

Some XBox games have both a 360 and original XBox version, so you can't play them on the 360. Other games simply aren't compatible. Your game may fall into one of those two groups.

My xbox 360 died and i bought a 2nd hand one. I purchased many arcade games from xbox live and they are saved on the memory pack. i have transfered this over and no it keeps telling me to unlock the games!...

You have to recover your gamertag for these arcade games to be played again, it's like an anti - piracy feature of the Xbox 360System not to allow data transfer wihtout prior notice. On your new Xbox 360 System:

• press the xbox guide button
• if your are signed in to your profile, you have to sign out first
• after signing out, press the Xbox guide button again and select recover gamertag
• on the next page, confirm on the prompt and follow the onscreen prompt to recover your gamertag

This should allow you to manage and play your downloaded Xbox Live Arcade Games.

Can i put my x box 360 hard drive on an xbox arcade.

I assume you mean the XBOX 360 Arcade system.
Your 360 hard drive will work on all 360 systems.
It does not matter if you have a Pro or Elite or Arcade system, the Hard Drive is the same.

My son saved money and bought a Xbox 360 Arcade. He did not realize that he could not play his xbox games on his new system. Is there an upgrade to allow old xbox games to be played on on the xbox 360

Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.

You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.
Here is the link to the upgrade

Hmm..

The hard drive probably isn't configured with the system. Go to System Settings > Memory Settings and you should see the option

Xbos 360 core arcade

This one is cheaper because it comes without a hard drive. It is just the same as the ones with a hard drive but without a hard drive. Yes you can play all the games but it is recomended that you get a hard drive one. You can save games music and game upgrades on it.

Xbox 360

The Arcade model comes with no harddrive, no hdmi (for digital connection to an HDTV), and I beleive the controller is wired instead of wireless. If you are planning on just playing games then the arcade may be a good choice for you as it's cheaper but you may find yourself wanting a hard drive sooner than later. Without a hard drive you will not be able to purchase or rent movies and you will not be able to download game demos and Xbox Live Arcade games. To compensate Microsoft includes a disc with some of the greatest hits of XBox Live Arcade with the Arcade version. The Pro comes with a 20GB hard drive but still no HDMI. The Elite version has a 120GB hard drive and HDMI. For most people the Pro is the one to get. If you were to get the Arcade then purchase a hard drive later you will pay more than the price of the pro.
