if the remote control is already programmed to the TV if you're depressed mute or menu you should be able to get out of that menu there is no factory default settings for TV unless you have not that kind of TV
For replacement of Hitachi TV remote controls under warranty, including CLE-1018A (for TV model DF4000DV and perhaps others), you need to contact Tempo Australia, phone 02 9975 2199 or 1300 886 649 (you may need to stay on the line for more than 15 minutes before you can talk to someone). Hopefully they can also advise you on purchase of a remote control if you are not making a warranty claim.
press display button & it shows the following 07 NOW 12:20 PM SLEEP TIMER OFF/on ON/OFF TIMER EVERYDAY ON TIME 7:00 PM OFF TIME 10:00 PM • The current channel or AV input (Channel 07) • The current time (12:20 pm) • Sleep Timer status/minutes remaining (The Sleep Timer is off) • On/Off Timer status (Set to turn on everyday at 7:00 PM, off at 10:00 PM) • Each Press of the DISPLAY button changes the display mode: Press the SLEEP TIMER button & set it to OFF
Select the channel to tune & press "CH" this is the key to the right of zero on the CLE-942 remote, Now you can tune the selected channel. You also need this key to sort/move channels after running auto tune.
The CLE-976 was no a cellular phone but a remote control for a Plasma TV. I contacted Hitachi Australia who put me into contact with a company that sell spares.
The following instructions are for the Emerson EWC1303/1903 tv/vcr. That's the closest match I could find to the Spongebob Squarepants 13' TV If it's actually in Sleep mode, do the following:
TO CANCEL THE SLEEP TIMER Press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button on the remote control until “SLEEP TIMER” appears. To view the time left for sleep timer press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button twice, then press the MENU button on the remote control to exit the sleep timer setting
If unsuccessful, try unplugging the TV for 1/2 hour, then plug it in and try turning it back on either manually or with the remote. Either of these should solve your problem. Best of luck to you!
I think you would have to turn off the sleep timer mode completely or increase its ON time span, say to 4 hours or so
or the lenth of time you have the TV on for. If that does not fix it then it sounds like a STANDBY MODE fault problem.
Hope this helps.
