Use the SDCopy freeware utility to set the widescreen flag. It also renames and downloads files for you, and it's small. There's a link from this tutorial page, which also explains a lot about aspect ratios and such:

I found out that the file structure is .AVI - I basically rename the .MOD files to .AVI in a DOS window, and they work fine ( Using VLC Media Player). Basically, access your camera like a Hard Drive from your PC, copy and paste your .MOD video files ( don't worry about the .MOI's, I don't know what they do, and they don't affect the play or sound of the video ), then rename them from either WIndows Explorer, or a Dos window, to a .AVI file extension. They play perfect for me. I tried using the Videocam Suite 1.0, but it is JUNK, and won't work with my XP Media Edition on my Dell anyway, the manual states that as well.

Panasonic SDR-H40P Camcorder, is there any way to just used the battery instead of AC adapter to transfer files to PC?

No, it is designed that way as there is a danger of file corruption if the power fails part way through a transfer.

My panasonic camcorder is sdr-h40 i can't load my videos in to my pc sence i've upgrade my computer from windows xp to windows 7 my sd card/hard disk video camera software video cam suite 1.0 is not...

Hi, the VideoCam software isn't compatible with Windows 7, but you can still copy videos and pictures to your computer and edit or view them with other software. Videos are saved by default as MPEG-2 files, and photos are saved as JPEG files -- both of these formats are recognized by a wide variety of programs. (For example, Microsoft's Picture Viewer, which comes with Windows, can display JPEGs, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager can edit them.)

I have the videocam suite 2.0 for my new panasonic , add music?

NO, you need to re-master the Video, and then save as say in an MPEG4 format, then using a Movie making software, edit the "Movie" and "Add" the sound tracks etc. You could either save it to a Memory stick, or stream it to the PC, via, link, and save it. Then do as related above.
