OK... just by the size of the cards you are most likely using a 2gb card that is an SD, which is perfect for it is what this camera reads.
the 8GB card is probably an HDSD card. This is not read by this camera.
They look the same, except are labeled differently.
Here are the specs on your camera: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/TZ1/TZ1A.HTM
here are the specs on the cards: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital
Note how the specs of the camera define the memory card to be used is an SD card.

The DMC-TZ1 is designed to work with SD cards. The 2GB card is an SD card, while the 8GB card is an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into an SD device, it will not work.

Some cameras cant manage/format large size memory cards as they where not made to handle that size. Check your user manual which should tell you the maximum size memory card your camera will take.

Sandisk micro memory chip not working in my lg620g cell phone

The LG620g works with microSD cards. Your 4GB card is actually a microSDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it's electronically incompatible and will not work in this phone. You need to use microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

VIVITAR VIVICAM 4090 PURCHASED FROM SHOPPING CHANNEL IT SAYS IN MANUEL UP TO 2GB . ON THE BOX THERE IS A STICKER SAYING USE UP TO 2GB BUT UNDER STICKER IT SAYS UP TO 8GB . CAN I USE A BIGGER GB OTHER...

The box may say you can use a card up to 8GB but since it can only use SD cards (not SDHC), the box seems to be in conflict with reality. Besides, the camera is only a 4 megapixel camera so you will be able to take hundreds of pictures with a 2GB card.

When i put sdhc card the frame is not working

The problem is that your Digital Picture Frame is only compatible with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You bought a larger card for your Digital Picture Frame, not noticing that it was SDHC (or not knowing that it mattered). The new card doesn't work, not because it or the Digital Picture Frame is broken, but because it's not compatible.

Cards up to 2Gb are generally SD.
Cards of 4Gb are generally SDHC.
Cards over 8Gb have to be SDHC.

(There are exceptions. Sometimes, manufacturers make 4Gb SDHC cards but some have errors; they disable half of the chip and sell it as 2Gb, but it's still SDHC. 4Gb cards are almost always SDHC because they're cheaper, but 4Gb SD cards do exist. They are so rare that I've even seen a guru on this site claim they don't. I did own one once, but it was very expensive and turned out to be so unreliable that I had to return it. I don't recommend looking for one, because of the problems.)

Your solution is to go find a 2Gb card, and be extra sure that it doesn't say "SDHC" on it.

When I put a 2 GB micro chip in my sansa e250, all I had to do was update my sansa for it to recognize the chip. I just switched to an 8 GB micro chip and my sansa and computer wont recognize it. I did the...

i think you put it back again your 2GB micro chip, its not necessarily to put 8GB, it will not work.. Your sansa e250 is design for 2GB only, your not an inventor to do that... your only a user, if you something stupid on that, its your own risk but for me its not necessary, your not contented with that.. All you have to do buy a new one which a lot more than 2GB and up, right!... Don't be so pathetic to do that things, even the company don't want really to change even the micro chip inside.. They were not selling for that kind of MP3 player... if might be then they will loss profit on their product, youve been pirate on it... hope you understand the situation...

Can I use an 8GB SD mem card in my Vivicam 8300s?

No you can't. I tried a 2gb chip and it was too big. But 1gb works just fine and it holds LOTS of pics, the only time I filled the chip was a 2 week vacation to Europe. So just carry several with you.

Can not download pictures on computer- "Communication error" showing on camera display window; camera chip 2GB with 4100 pictures. Tried using another 2GB chip with less than 100 pictures in it...

Start deleting pictures base on how good they are, importance and priority. Then by trial and error delete 50 pictures, download; 100 ... 200. Finally it download ... after 10-15 seconds wait. Total pictures deleted 1700 out of 4200. So there is a limitation on this type of camera with a 2GB chip, you have to stop taking pictures and change camera
chip when the total count reach 2500 + or - 50 pictures.
